Gold Edition and Conquest? Tired of ads?

I have civ3 already but I've seen in the EBgames that there is civ3 gold edition and also the new expansion the conquest.

I wonder what is the Gold Edition? does it mean the gold edition is basically the civ3 with Conquest in it?

Please somebody explain about these series. Thank you.

gold = plain civ3 + ptw

you dont need it as conquests includes ptw

so to have everything you only need to get conquests

That is about it, you only need C3C if oyu have the original Civ III.
The gold version was an attempt to sell some more productand get CivIII back on the shelf for people that do not have it.
