How good is your memory? (Time out:0 days after 17-11-2003, 20:35)
I already forgot the question
Somewhat bad, though I can still remember simple things quickly
Somewhere in the middle... nothing special
Better than average
I can remember all numbers in PI
I barely remember what the Banana looks like

How good is your memory?

Am I the only one who's got a real annoying problem with my memory?

I have a hard time even remember easy phone numbers... Took me a week before I could remember my roommates phone number, which goes a little like this: 20 20 22 24

Whenever I have to do some culculations in my head, I have to write the temporary numbers down, otherwise I forget them. I'm talking about having to write 56 down when having to add 56 and 34

Stop whining. The first time in my life I remembered my phone number (of course I can not remember when I got the phone and service in question) was... today. OTOH, there's a couple of passwords (some of them not mine) that I never seem to forget... er... actually, now that I think of it, I have forgotten one of those passwords...

I can't remember random things like names (had a hellish time memorizing the names of my over-100 students) and phone numbers but information that fits together in a rational manner. So for example I can't remember names of people who were on my hall in college but I could sit down now and write a decent paper on the Oprichnina when I haven't heard anything about it since my russian history class three years ago.

I can remember numbers and faces really well, names a bit less. I have a hard time remembering what I did 15 minutes ago though.

If I get too much information all at once, important stuff gets squeezed out of my brain. Don't tell me your name! I'll forget where I live!

my memory sucks. I love history, but have trouble remember all of it.

It really limited my post high school learning opportunities. I may be super smart (if not the smartest ), but I can't remember much.

I can generally give the gist of any of my lectures after I have sat through them.

However, I can't remember names of people I work with on a regular basis.

I can't remember people's names, but I can't remember faces either. I find that the best way to get around that is to act as though you are friends with every person you see. People at work will think you're the friendliest person they've ever met, but really, you have no idea who those people are. Then you can get used to walking around without wearing your glasses.

Suffering from ads?

I have a good memory in general, and in some ways excellent. It depends somewhat on mood, in certain frames of mind I can remember a phone number we had for a year when I was 9 years old. In other frames of mind I can arrive at the end of a thought without recalling the beginning or middle.

If a number a face or a name interests me I'll seldom forget it. If it doesn't interest me I may have forgotten it 2 seconds after they told me.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

I'm great with names, and I'm pretty good with them learnin'-facts, history dates and such.

My downfall is remembering to perform certain tasks. Chores, homework, etc... will totally slip my mind until it's too late (or almost so). It can cause problems, let me tell you.

I'm the same way. I can memorize a string of 15 numbers after reading them out only once. However, remembering the tasks I have to do for the day is hard for me.

Tired of ads?

I apparently have a highly weird memory. I have memories from my childhood in very, very high detail. I can reproduce short conversations almost exactly. I can remember one page of A4 text (with meaning) identically. Maybe more, dunno. Oh, and I always remember weird passwords with ease. I use the cryptic looking ones, and have about a dozen different - remember them easily.

On the bad side, though. I'm exceptionally bad at remembering numerical sequences such as phone numbers. Even the phone numbers I dial often, I remember as a sequence of finger movements to press the buttons, not numbers. Whenever headed for somewhere, I have to write the house number down, or I may well forget it. I'm good at remembering words in various languages, but the simple names puzzle me - I just can't remember people who have common names.

Full PM-box? Change here!

I hate it when I can't forget things I want to forget- like my childhood.

I prefer to remember more recent things- as they are better.
