What is the worst accident or injury you sustained?

Well me......I'd have to say that it was to my shoulder. I thorn out 2 ligaments while diving from the roof top into my pool...Dont get me wrong, I did it about a hundred times before shlt happenned. I cant even throw like I used to even today, 10 years after it happenned, even if I got operated for the sucker.

Ive never been seriously injured. I've had numerous close calls that could have meant death, but I always seem to get by with the smallest of margins.

1. shotgun went off next to me in a truck i was riding in.
2. engines on a military plane i was riding in caught on fire and forced us to land
3. almost got run down by a speeding truck in the early morning
4. was nearly shot by an idiot while doing a live firing exercise
5. had a heat stroke in GA because the bastards hadnt given me any canteens to put water in.
6. cop car pulled out in front of me so he could get someone doing 5 miles over the speed limit and drove me into a ditch.

But so far the only serious thing that happened to me(besides the heat stroke) was when i stepped on a sling blade when i was about 10. talk about minding your mom from then on about walking around the back yard barefooted. Then again maybe it was the time I was running through my grandma's yard after dark and ran into a tree and ended up unconsious.

Damn im accident prone.

He was hiding behind a mound of dirt that was to be used to level a construction area. I was in the middle of town too. Luckly the ditch wasnt deep at all. If it had been 6 feet back i would have went off in a deep one. The thing that pissed me off the most is that he kept going. Never bothered to look back and i know he saw me cause he would have had to been blind

Another funny story for you. A couple of years ago I was driving in a curvy and hilly area when i came around a corner and saw the front of a car in my lane. I thought I was dead. But as I went up the small rise in the hill i saw the car was being towed. For a couple of seconds I just knew it was all over.

I don't want to get into it more spesifically than this, but I've broken my ancle from two spots in the army, and also sustained a serious injury that ended up me being in shock because of a lost of blood. I'm still bitter that I never got a cent from insurance after the serious injury, because it left me injury for the rest of my life, that has a small affect to my life.

Are we counting broken bones? I broke my wrist and my thumb on different occasions playing football.

Pekka. Is there no procedure there to address service related injuries or did you just think it would get better? I was just wondering because here they go through this big long process after an injury. You don't get a whole lot, dont get me wrong but it is something at least.

Back home I flipped a snowmobile and one of the skis gashed open my right shin. I still have a scar that won't grow hair.

Slipped and gashed my head while playing raquetball (first and last time!) and I had to have 5 stitches to close the wound.

However, I am the only one of my brothers who has not broken a bone.

I guess in a way I'm an incredibly lucky person. I once sledded head first into a moving car and only got a head bump. I was tossed head first out of a second story window and only got some abraisions. I was hung by the neck and only got a mild rope burn that went away in less than a week. I've been decked in the mouth with a baseball bat. I once spent an entire afternoon babysitting a falling down drunk who waived a shotgun at me most of the time. I played "bambi" (involuntarily)with a guy armed with a 30.06 chasing me. I played Russian roulette (involuntarily) twice. I've been arrested by a stoned Rastafarian carrying a 30 caliber machinegun.

I've never broken a bone or required hospitalization.

I've had a number of mostly minor injuries, usually suffered during the course of barely averting a much more serious injury.

Broken Bones: I broke the two wrist bones and my elbow on my right arm playing soccer in High School. I also broke a finger and a shin bone in a climbing accident, and I've broken (I believe) every toe on both feet at one time or another, mostly playing soccer.

Cuts and Internal Injuries: I was attacked by a German Shepard on the day before my third birthday. He caught me by the face and tore open my chin and tore my left eyelid (lower) down my cheek. I also jabbed myself in the chin while running with a stick later the same year. I also rode my tricycle down some cement stairs that same year and got a concussion. I also fell on a bottle that I was carrying and managed to make a real mess of my hand. All the same year (1964), all but the concussion required stitches. I pushed a door open in the freezing cold and it stuck on a piece of ice. My arm went right through the brittle glass and a vein got sliced, and I lost about a 1" round bit of skin from my arm. A lot of blood and a fair number of stitches for that one. I stuck myself with a small knife in the finger one time and sliced a nerve. This was the most painful injury for the size of it that I've ever seen. Hand injuries realy suck. Lately I've been pretty fortunate, with only a few cuts from climbing that I haven't bothered to get treated. They'd be barely stitch worthy anyway, and I've been pretty good at protecting myself once I've gotten hurt.

I was 7 years old, playing baseball in Oviedo, Spain. I was catching, without equipment of course, and a guy more than twice as old as me batted, hit the ball what seemed to be 3 miles, then excitedly flung the steel bat backwards hard... right into my nose. I still don't know how it wasnt at least broken. All I got was a very large purple bruise (the pictures are hilarious), but now I sneeze every time I'm hit between the eyes.

Well, I don't think I can compare with Sprayber, Dr. Strangelove and Sikander, but ...

1. Stitches in the head as a child.
2. Stitches in the leg as an adult.
3. Half-deaf after surgery as a child to remove a benign tumor.
4. Broken leg as a child.
5. Various scrapes, cuts and bruises in child- and adulthood.

I once got knocked off my bicycle by a car that ran into the back of me. I was thrown backwards and headbutted the windscreen. There was a massive dent in the windscreen and a hole in the middle of it. Luckily I didn't go right through. I got away with just four stitches in my forehead.

The only injury that gives me a problem comes from spraining my ankle about three years ago in a climbing accident. The cracked bone in my foot healed perfectly but the ankle is still not as strong as the other one and aches in cold weather.

I was eight years old. Our house was located on the top of a hill, and I had built a sledding track in the front yard the day before. Overnight the snow froze solid, so the sledding was great that day. Unfortunately it was so great that the sled continued beyond the end of the track and out to the road where I struck the sideboard of a passing car. I was knocked back about ten feet, but I was able to pick myself up.

My brother and I got into a fight on Christmas eve when I was 7-8 and I ended up pulling a muscle in my neck. When I woke up Xmas morning I couldn't move my head. So we spent the first part of the morning at the emergency room.

The photos of me in the neck brace from that Xmas must be destroyed!

Other than that, I've only been hospitalized for a tonsilectomy. And that time I was shot [/lie].
