Sleeping disorders Tired of ads?

I've noticed that I've been having these for.. lets say maybe half year now. Or this is when I first really noticed them.

It seems like I'm really tense without noticing it until my muscles gets tired. Then I notice 'wow, I was not very relaxed!'. The other thing is, I noticed that I put my teeth together quite hard at times. Like little babies do, when they do that thing with their teeth for at certain period. It seems like I do taht sometimes. I notice it when my jaw is tired.

Then, the other night I woke up because I missed few breaths it seems. Like coming to surface from diving. Real hard breath in. I guess I stopped breathign for a while. What's that about?

Also I have more and more a real dog sleep. Keep waking up every hour once, thinking it's morning already.
Also, sometimes I hear it 100% when I start breathing like I do when I sleep. Sometimes I even hear myself snoring a bit. I have my eyes closed, but I'm semi wake.

Pekka your latest topics show that you have lot of troubles to deal with, or are you just an attention whore

Look who said that, the one that made his own birthday thread

About this thread, I think you should talk about it to your dentist, as doing that in the long period will deteriorate your teeth- I'd talk to a doctor about that "missing breath", I had a similar problem a cpl years ago and it seems it wasn't a narcolepsy warning (oh my, thanks) but just stress coming out- if you do have a stressful life, of course

No, I don't really have lots of troubles to deal with. Actually I have very little troubles, comparing to average people. I'm just loud about them!

Hey, I made my own b-day thread too. Attention whore? I'd be lying if I tried to deny. So I'm just not going to answer that, m'kay?

Actually, it might have something to do with me stopping regular work out. Maybe I have too much energy, and this is why I keep waking up, and am tensed.

About the stop breathing, this is rare, I think I've noticed it happening only twice in this 6 months. Am I making a big deal about something small again? Aagh.. but I do sleep like a dog though. But that could be explained with that extra energy. That makes me tired when I wake up naturally. I should start daily work outs again and see what happens... maybe I also stress too much about getting good grades. I will start changing both of these starting from now. Tomorrow, I'll go to class with my balls hanging out. Talk about being relaxed.

Somehow I was naive enough to think that it was the feet of the duck under the blanket. I stand corrected.

Also I might be lacking some vitamines.. I've been eating badly and one-dimensionally.. but I can't afford crap.. I should get a job.

Tits? What the ... Just because I haven't worked out for 2 months doesn't make me have manboobs . I'm still steel of hardness and make no mistake about it!

But isn't it fun.. 'Ohhhhhh, Pekka has some sleeping disorders.. oohh.. look five minutes later he sees the answer.. I do feel sorry for this poor fellow though'

'No way! Someone confronted you and called you bad names and you didn't kill him right there right then? oh man you have it bad!'

'You didn't have it your way? Boohoo.. I really want to help you though, because you're such a special kind of guy!'

Oh man... when did I come this attention whoring primadonna with no real problems? I go smash myself to the sink (don't want to clean it up afterwards).

As long as you're not at-whoring again, you should see a sleep doctor. You could have sleep apnea (which really sucks, btw).

sleep apnea

That's what I thought.

I have a mouth gaurd for grinding of my teeth. I haven't done it though, since I switched jobs about 3 years ago though.

Most of it is probably due to stress. Working out, masterbating, etc.. can help.

When I worked nights I had a hard time sleeping because of the light and noise of the day. I got a white noise machine, and that helped. I eventually got use to it being light when I slept.

You need to learn to relax, and that can be tough when you are always busy. If you can find normal means to relieve stress talk to your doctor about sleeping aids.

Tired of ads?

How long has this being going on for Pekka? Does it happen every night? It does sound like you're suffering from obstructive sleep apnoea. Obesity is sometimes a cause, as are relaxants such as alcohol and benzodizapines, I don't know if any apply in you case though. It might be a good idea to get it checked out if it persists.

Excessive grinding of teeth is a sign of methamphetamine abuse - which might also explain the restless nights...

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

our_man, noticed it maybe 6 months ago the first time. It's not every night that it's like this.

For example, yesterday, I followed my own advice to relax, and succeeded so well, that I missed my first 5 classes and woke up 12.30 .

I think I've had all of those symptoms... not sure about the breathing thing though, with me it's more like a nocturnal panic attack, with my heart pounding really hard for a while... I also often have restless legs when going to sleep, and sometimes I experience hallucinations when falling asleep or waking up. This morning, for example, I briefly "saw" some kind of a giant spider on the opposite wall before I was completely awake.

I've got plenty of sleeping disorders

I get sleep paralysis about once a week. It happens when I'm about to fall asleep or wake up. My mind is fully awake, but I can't move my body.

I also sleepwalk and sometimes I halucinate while I sleepowalk. Once I smashed the glass lid of a fish tank because I thought a miniature version of my best friend was about to drown. The funny thing is I remember it afterwards.

Suffering from ads?

I have sleep apnea -- it's usually not so bad, but if I have head cold (or other condition which keeps any air from moving through my nose, like allergies), My airway blocks up and I start suffocating as soon as I actually fall asleep, which wakes me up in very short order. The only way to prevent it is to sleep within 45 degrees of vertical (i.e., sitting up), which I don't do well.

It's kind of funny, I'm semi conscious many times. I guess it's common. You know, when you just return from deep state of sleep and dreaming, but you're eyes are closed and oyu are sleep, not just refusing to open your eyes. I'm actually consciouss right there, I can think of the dream I just saw and all that.. and remember it afterwards when I actually wake up.

You realize you're not in deep mode, but you don't realize that you are still very much sleeping, not just keeping your eyes closed. Like for example the phone rings. You're thinkigna bout the dream you just saw and wondering if you should wake up or not. *Ririririringgg* *Riririringgg*.. then you think 'hmm I wonder what that is. I don't recognize that sound. Oh well.... no wait it's getting annoying. What is that sound?'. I might wake up or not. If I don't wake up it's 'Oh good it stopped.. now to my next dream, I wonder what it'll be like'. Or I wake up and go 'DAMN! That's the phone!'. But only after I woke up. So the transition is slow, and when it finally happens, it's still sudden when full consciouss returns.

It's like this. The sleep dream (or REM I guess) is movie time, and the other time is commercials time and critisizing the movie and waiting for the next one, semi consciously.

But sometimes, you get caught and trapped in the commercial brakes! It's like you can't wake up even if you tell yourself to wake up, and you can't go back to dreaming either, because you just realized you're semi conscious. This is not time for lucid dreaming, because you're not dreaming at this point and realizing it. You are realizing you're in the transition, and you just realizied it and it stopped and you're not moving anywhere. THis is the RUssian plot. Be aware of this one and carry small handguns at all times to protect yourself.

It's weird because you sense some things that are happening, for example ringing phone, but there's nothing much you can do about it! It's like 'get up, answer it damn it.. hmm cool I can't move now, I wonder if this is permanent?'. And because you're sleeping kind of, you can start feeling pretty bad about it too, scared shitless because your imagination is kind of wild too.

Then the funny part is when you haven't answered the phone for example and you speak to your friend later.. 'you didn't answer?' ... then I wonder like hmm.. I remember it ringing.. was it in my sleep or not? because normally you'd answer it, you heard it, so why didn't you? But because you were sleeping, it's kind of difficult to register if you heard it in your sleep or not. You're sure you didn't answer it consciously, but you're not sur if you dreamt about it or not. Or something simular dream maybe? Because when the phone rang, you were semi-conscious and you still kind of remember it, given the right keyes and associate with it.

Or you know, just walk to the funny farm 'hey I'm a weirdo, I get trapped in my transitions!'

'Yes just relax, that's normal.. no the men are putting that shirt on you so you don't hurt your... I mean because that's our standard procedure.. No no it doesn't mean anything Hahhahhaa.. Sit down, sir.. sit down. Please, sit down.. If you don't, we'll have to tranqualize you and force.. just please sit down... oh gosh here we go again.. IGOR! DIMITRI! TAKE HIM OUT!'. Then furious fight ensues, and I have 7 needles in my butt and two gorillas sitting on me. At least I made them broke the sweat.... next time we'll dance until we all go to hospital! And even though I'm tranqualized, commited in mental institution for a long time, beaten by two gorillas.. the only thing that makes me happy is that those bastards broke the sweat. This will be my new goal. They'll be praying for transmission to other institute after a week with me! MUAhhahahahaahhaah!

Damn, I really should try go sleep now... exam tomorrow.. ugh.. ok, another try.
