Why do we have to have so many of these threads? How about limiting it to three a month? One for real anti-semitism in Europe, like the bombings in Istanbul and that school in Paris getting burned. One for phony anti-semitism, like some nobody complaining about Israel at a dinner party, or some grossly exaggerated statistics. And one for pro-Jewish developments, such as the appointment of Michael Howard as leader of the Conservatives, or the expulsion of that German MP.

Why should we slag LoTM? It's a real problem. You should post this in the threads that kibitz.

It's not right that the Jews should suffer because of the actions of others who hate them and want to kill them. The French government should step up and protect their citizens from harm.

I understand the Rabbi's concern for his flock, I've found myself in a similar situation with some of the people I'm responsible for in our club on campus.

You want to protect them from harm, yet just the act of expressing your beliefs as a Jew would expose you to danger.

Again, I say wear the yarmulke. Any other action shows the power of the Moslems to cower the Jews. And any other suggestion from the Rabbi would also meet with scorn because of his responsiblity to care for the other Jews.

It's antisemitic to associate all Jews with the crimes of a few Jews.

Let me make this easier for you to understand. Would you consider it at all racist for a person to fear and hate all blacks because he was once mugged by one? That's essentially what you are describing with your "hot headed muslim" example.

I thought it was an important and newsworthy topic. I think every such thread ive begun has been on an important and newsworthy topic. If you think any indivdual thread is not, please say so on that thread. If you think there are aspect to the issue im not highlighting, please start your own thread.

Next someone should promote baseball in France, then Jews will have a safe place to worship. French baseball will be pretty interesting too. The umpires will actually chant, and a somewhat different form of "the wave" will appear in French baseball stands.
