...but in the opposite way everyone thinks... minorities need to be around more white people. plain and simple.
let's take a trip to the inner city where most people are Black and boricua. These children grow up with relatively no contact with white people. typically, their neighbour may be an elderly white woman who has lived there for decades and there's a friend their age down the block who's a white boy 'with soul,' but aside from this, the only contact most young Black and rican youth have with white people is solely authourity figures such as cops, teachers, etc. there is very limited contact with whites of their same age and background and not as older people with power over them.
this problem is not aided at all by the fact that those few youth who do come out of this isolation often go straight to HBU's, which are ivy-lined ghettoes in their continuation of minority isolation from whites.
so racial diversity is crucial but not for the betterment of whites. quite the opposite. Blacks and ricans MUST have contact with white people, especially on equal terms.

clearly my point has gone over all your heads... instead of championing diversity for the sake of white people needing to have contact with others, it's quite the opposite. the over-riding need is for minorities to have contact with whites.

I think AS means, everyone needs contact with everyone, while they're young, so they won't become ignorant racist *******s when they get old.

Albert is right. Minorities need whites far more than whites need minorities. How are they going to learn to function in a society that is predominantly white if they don't have any contact with whites?

I assume there's a healthy dose of sarcasm in your comment, otherwise you are basically advocating state arranged matings. This sentiment also recognises that racial diversity will always cause adversity.

Yes, and I agree. I find the notion of forced interracial relations repugnant though. Such an arrangement would force me to divorce my wife and marry someone else.

what i meant was that traditionally, those favouring diversity take the opposite position of mine... they say white people need to become more tolerant, aware, etc. by being exposed to minorities. i'm saying the opposite so i would get liberals against me as well as anti-diversity conservatives.

but... in the whole issue of diversity, what i was saying is overlooked. minorities need contact with white people if just to stop the wide-spread habit of using the words cracker, white, and pink inter-changeably.
