Lucky told us long ago that they use sims and the combat calculators extensively to decide which battles to engage in and which not to. They could be running a sim many many times like we did. Our sim helped show what results might ensue should we attack. Plus they have MIs and Horsemen, and probably want to calculate the best order for them to attack in (elite Horse first, vet Horse then vet MI?).

maybe we should run a sim too, with us playing GCA out of Catchopolis and attack Poly troops to access the best/worst situation.

Trip: In GCA's case I think they equate a "Sim" to multiple reloads in which the most favorable outcome is the proper "Simulation" to go with in the real turn.

Again, betting is open on how many NMs we lose to attacking pikes during GCA's turn.

Actually, I wouldn't put it beyond them to actually hack the damn save file.

You know, as much as we joke about this:

Are we sure that some very similar variation of this isn't exactly what they define as a sim? Has anyone come out and actually said "What are you doing over there? No offense, but those are damn unusual odds you have there."

WTF!! Why was the workers at Inevitable moved?? If they had built that road, it would be ready next turn.

The blunderings of this war are starting to turn my stomack. First we move next to Catch when we aren't ready (better to attack them now they say) and now we are talking about retreating so that we can attack them in UP to 14 turns????

And I can't add a worker to Hispanica, to get it ready for the REXing like bunny phases, because of impending War weariness!!

Let Us finish this #h!t, once and for all...

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I have a suggestion, E_T. Relax.

If you count, you will see that if the workers were on that tile they could be slaves of GCA right now. When Arne and I agreed to advance on Catchopolis it became necessary to get the workers out of there.

As for blunderings... hmmmm. Well now, assume it is true that Catchopolis is in ruins right now. Yep, I guess Arne and I blundered.

Now, you recently suggested that BigFree might be suffering from burn out. Is he the only one?

I'm just getting tired of this war. I have better things to do, like building our Empire, than dealing with possible cheaters.

I would like to make a suggestion, that we post up to three turns for orders/discussion. Part of my problem, has been getting the time to post, while dealing with RL and such (like getting money so I won't get evicted!), and when I do have time, it's easier for me to post several turns of stuff at that time.

That way, If I can't get my orders posted in time for the save, there is already something available for the game to carryon with.

That just might be a good plan. Anyone have a problem with up to 3 topped threads for upcoming turns at any given time?

How about this, 1 topped thread, that has links to the next 3 turns. All we have to do is update that thread and post the new links.

Let's give it some time and see what other people think.

I like the idea of a topped turn thread guide with links there to the various turns. That could work quite nicely.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

I think it would be a good idea! Several turns of orders are sometimes more difficult to work out, but they also allow more of a "big picture" aspect as well.

It also has the added benefit of there at least being some orders in case the turn comes around quickly and there hasn't been enough time for ministers to post orders which has almost happened a few times recently.
