We're not numb. We just don't show our emotions and don't know how to handle it. That's why Swedes stereotype us as drunkards with knives, because when folks get drunk, they can't hold back anymore you see..

Saying how you feel is gay, taboo and sign of weakness. Real men can take anything and deal with it. Like elephants, they go die to the graveyard and not be miserable bastards amongst the fellows. In the army it's ok. You can act as you want in your free time, it's all good and fun. There are few expections. Like hockey games, and the army. Others would be when you're drunk.
