Uhhh...this analysis is ridiculous. It completely ignores the fact that there are soft PCers in the East who are less uncomfortable with the Libs or the (god forbid) NDP than they are with the Party of Preston....

You do know that anything connected with the Alliance is considered a joke east of Kenora, right?

Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

Ummm...by "all over" do you mean from BC to Man.? Because you still have a problem in that that region of the country onlu contains 30% of its population.

Many people did vote Alliance in Ontario last election, but not enough to take the seats from the liberals.

So yes, people from the majority of the provinces vote Alliance.

Not that many PC seats in the East. Suppose we subtract 5 seats from the total, now we sit at 20 seats needing to tie the Liberals, assuming that every seat that is Tory chooses Liberal over NDP. Big difference!

I haven't seen any poll numbers since they posted in 4th place.

Moot. You have a merger of the conservatives and the alliance party.

I completely agree with this.

If the "Conservative" Party of Canada turns out to be overly Alliance-ish, I think we may actually be worse off than we were before. This is simply because you'll be alienating alot of (A) Red Tories and (B) swing voters, the people who aren't die-hard Liberals and will just vote for Martin because "things are pretty good, and he's not some Western extremist".

I'm sad to say it, but I think if the Conservative Party wants to really challenge the Libs, they'll have to get a little bit closer to the ideology of their enemy. They have to focus more on the corruption of the Liberals, and less on the real ideological differences. Don't scare the Easterners with talk of threatening health care, transfer payments, or what have you.

Once you have a majority government in Canada, you can basically do whatever you want, anyway.

Do whatever you want, just get Dalton Mcfvckface out of Ontario, along with his 5.6bn dollar debt BS. I can see the lies just ready to burst out of that big bulge on his neck. What a geek. He's already broken three campaign promises.

Bring Ernie back.
