I'd do the same. I can't even begin to think about buying a house, even with these low interest rates, with the debts i have now.

But the question would have been more "interesting" if you had added a couple other zeroes.

I'd buy food. Then I'd buy a chair and a sofa to my place. I have only one crappy chair and this is bad chair... what else hmm.. I'd buy a table too.

Then I'd buy me a washing machine.. and then I'd buy some new clothes and then I'd buy a used laptop.

The rest I'd save and use for food and rent money.

With $10,000 I would defently pay of my debts... and then put the rest of the money in the bank (Saving up so I can move out of this country)

This year was very good for me financially -- I paid off all my debts, and I actually do have about $10k sitting in my account.

I'm sitting on it.

I would be able to pay off my debts right away but it's not logical to do so. I'd rather have monthly payments with money in the bank than no monthly payments and no money or almost no money in the bank.

Since I owe something like $300,000 I really should pay off some debt but 10 grand hardly even impacts it so I would probably just a dining room set -- if there was any left over I would probably just take my wife on a somewhere. -- a local restaurant perhaps


When I was 20, $ 10,000 seemed like a LOT of money-- I lived on that much for a full year-- While it is still substantial, its basically less than a month's pay for a lot of dual-income families
