	What exactly is the deal with Unorthodox? Tired of ads?

I don't think I've ever seen someone so bent out of shape about something as that guy. Its just a game.


did someone here actually report him, or is he just grasping at straws. And what was reported anyway? Did people actually tell him to edit his posts?


And Sir Ralph, you really are getting too much fun at his expense, really. I think the guy nearly had a coronary after your posts.

What is his problem anyway? Does it deal with the pre-bob war negotiations between us? Whatever it is, its really affecting him.

What concerns the posts he claims to be reported, it's a complete mystery for me. But I remember Ghengis editing his posts too, and when he was asked why, he said he was told so by the mods. But Ghengis I understand, he really insulted the RP team, by saying they're incompetent players.

Like it was said in the public, it looks like a plot of panagish dimensions, without actually blaming panag, but he's known for reporting lots of posts. I can't say I'm without suspections, but I will hold my breath, because I can't prove anything.

Unortho views the roleplay and public domain as "his" part of the game as much as most of GS views the actual Civ 3 aspect to be their "game."

In a way (bad analogy, I know) it's as though GS is trying to "steal" his part of the game that he enjoys. It would be like telling GS to just 'wing it' while playing the turns and not being allowed to put any thought into anything.

Yes, I already said, bad analogy, bear with me.

No, I totally buy that analogy. Like at the beginning if we were told we only had 3 hours a turn or something. Imagine Nathan et al dealing with that! haha.

I guess we have to take from this game what we can. Still, he needs to relax a bit (the same could be said for others as well )

The worst of his mistakes is to believe, that we treat fun stuff like poems and stories as insults and try to forbid them. This is simply not true, but he fails to see the difference between fun stuff and personal attacks. OPD's reaction on Darekills misplaced, but harmless poem may be led him to believe this. I tried to picture it as bad poetry, which is harmless, but hardly enjoyable (which is crap, I know myself, but better than to condemn it as insult). This way I tried to lead the discussion to another subject, even though I attracted quite a part of the fire on myself, rightfully as I must admit.

In otherwards, if you are not completely confident that what you are posting is in furtherance of GS' goals... don't do it.

Personal irritation, or the converse, being irritating, is of no use to us. We are having enough problems as it is.

Don;t flip out on me, Sir Ralph, but I'm gonna single out your poking a sharp stick into UnO's eye... it just wasn't necessary (really, don;t get mad, I'm just trying to be coldly rational here). I know it was fun, but what does it get us? UnO on a rampage, and everybody else seeing us flub relations in public.

And OPD, you too: Your initial flame at Darekill was... not called for, but more importantly, possibly detrimental to our future dealings with them.

Think of this as the Cold War... when Kruschev banged his shoe on the UN conference table, HE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING, and used an aide's shoe, no less!!

Or consider the dogpile arranged by Vox, DIPLOMATICALLY... we should all learn from Beta's example.

These flame threads are not helping, even though they may be fun in certain ways in the doing. Flame threads are WEAPONS, not toys.

I will try to lay off as well. HotEnamel is such a misguided *******, I can't help myself sometimes.

Any, the posts after mine tonight, (while away at the lobster eating dinner) were cool and collected, an improvement.

What would help, I think, is a public denouncement of what HE said, similar to how Ralph and I tried to moderate what OPD said. Until then, well....anyway, will have to just let it lie.

Actually I hadn't to poke the stick into his eye, he had it already in when he launched at me. I could have ignored his assault just like I ignored Hot_Enamels assholish troll, but I think he's worth a response. But then, his rage got too ridiculous. I still think I pressed the brake soon enough, and in the other thread (War Weariness), where the discussion went then, had him already almost calmed down.

By the way, I wrote Darekill a private message earlier this evening, which is ... well ... private, will say in German. I apologized for calling his poem bad and explained it, that I wanted to detract the subject of the discussion from the blame of mudslinging, which is most certainly not the case. He's an ok guy and will understand it.

OPD's try to explain it with the tale of the Irish boy is not that bad of an example, but it failed, though. You can't talk logic and reason with trolls like Hot_Enamel. You simply can't. All you can do is giving them a cookie and lull them, just like Arrian and Theseus did.

Here goes a plea to all our team members. Never respond to posts of the main bullshit masters, such like Hot_Enamel and Master Zen. They aren't worth it, will turn the word in your mouth and generally any discussion will make things worse. Better ignore them.

BTW, I do want to say that the VAST majority of GS' participation in these flame threads has been above reproach.

I just mean that I want to USE these situations, strategically, rather than just participating in ongoing vitriol.

For instance: I find it hard to believe that us friggin' 'masterminds' can't find a way to start a find between any of ND, GoW, and Lego.

We seemingly do need an "Evil Plan" member!
