	Nominations for Consul: Dec 03 Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

It is time to gather the names of those who would be Consuls.

BigFree's seat is up for election. He may seek to retain it. Others may seek it gain it.

Know only that there is a little more than 24 hours in which to state your desire to serve as Consul for the term of Dec 03 to Feb 04.

You must state your intention to run in this thread to be considered.

Sorry for the nitpick... the term will actually be from the beginning of December to the beginning of March - three months, not two.

No problem, vonD. I thought about that, but then I thought... Dec, Jan, Feb... 1, 2, 3...

Occupies the office during Dec, Jan and Feb, till the election in March.

Dec to Mar sounded like a 4 month term, so I put Dec-Feb.

Oops...my bad, I misunderstood your notation. Only now I have realized that "03" and "04" are not part of a "day" date, but denote years... since it already is Dec 3 today, I got confused. Sorry, too early in the morning for me.

Note to self: never post nitpicks before 10am your time. It's likely it was you missing something...

I am not running for this term. I have many things I would like to do and would like a break from the responsibility of being a Consul. I have two nominations to make:

Togas and vondrack

MZ: People still spell mine with a lower case "f"....

I thank BigFree for nomination, but must regretfully decline. This time of the year is extremely demanding in terms of time needed to run my business (as you can guess by the turn reports lagging behind). I am barely managing to do what I do here + all the Lego stuff.

I'll accept the nomination.

I need to be honest, though. I'm still "considering" it, but the election window closes tonight so I'd better just accept just in case. At least it puts another name on the ballot.

My issues: My work is hella busy right now. I'm online every day, but only in chat a couple hours a night sometimes, and sometimes not at all. However, I seem to be online most nights when we do the turn.

I used to have more free time back when I was working with kids but now that I'm working with more serious adult criminal cases I have far less time and spend more days in court.

However ... I will have 3 months of free evenings starting March 1, 2004. As it turns out this Consular term ends right about that time so I'd mostly be learning for the 2nd time around.

If I get elected please don't expect me to rush into a flury of activity during the first term. If I don't get elected count on me coming at the job full steam in 3 months time.
