It struck me as the weirdest part of the Tiger's message board.
An Ulster fan was asking if, what with their new friendship, some of the Leics. boys wanted to wear a split shirt to the Eng/Ire game.

I have a wonderful recipe for Nettle Risotto. I just can't find the right nettles for it. Chefs - well, one that I know of - seem to get them, I can't.

Whilst I might not make a ‘better’ Commercial Director than the incumbent I would certainly be more popular.

Example one – the crappy keg beer inside the ground, supplied by a major sponsor of the club, is more expensive than the same beer in a tenanted public house a hundred yards down the road. There is no way the club can be paying the same price per barrel as the landlord there – and yet they charge more. They think fans are stupid you see – but it’s easily solved as we stay in the pub for an extra pint instead of having one in the ground.

Ah – I’ve gone off on one again haven’t I?

You know I nearly missed this.

Not really to be honest. By the time we crash out at the pool stage and Ulster get whupped in the quarters the Tigers-Ulster good feeling will be history and all you’ll have is a very weird looking shirt. The Red, White and Green side will look fine but that iffy red and white won’t wear well (as Finbar often says).

WORLD CHAMPIONS. There – that should make the Ulster fans feel right out of place on Tigers messageboard now?

To be fair I’m not that active on the board the last few days – that nonce ‘Ulster Fan’ and his constant trolling got on my nerves too much. Assuming of course that it wasn’t yourself?

Not frequenting this message board, I missed the whole point of the combined shirt exercise. But it didn't stop me contributing. I often do my best work in complete and utter ignorance.

Yes, but entirely irrelevant on the Tigers message board. Of course, if you'd written LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, it might have been relevant. If a bit of a lesson in ancient history.

Though it has a qualifier – after the whistle as gone they have a captive market for the duration. Because we are a rugby venue, not a soccer battlefield, we can serve alcohol throughout the game and take it onto the stands (plastic containers only – the law isn’t that stupid!). Even with the high price I sometimes weaken.

Put an end to popups!

What really bothers me is the fact that it's been raining so much around here that mayors don't want their rugby fields to be turned into trenches by the studs of three tens of rubymen. Which means, in other terms, that the match I should have been playing tonight has been cancelled on grounds the ground was soaked. A pity.

(I'm sure Havak will be glad to see a post not mentioning Leicester loss to Ulster, for a change).

It's a pity about your game, a friend of mine who used to play hooker told me that he enjoyed the mud...

H-Cup result:

Ospreys 11 - Stade Toulousain 29

The score was 6 - 29 at the end of the first half.

The first half was largely dominated by the Toulousains who scored four tries, three from Vincent Clerc and one from Benoît Baby who previously made two decisive passes to Vincent Clerc. The four tries give Toulouse the bonus point the team was looking for.

The second half was another story, the Ospreys came back very motivated and scored a deserved try from their young and talented fly-half. The Toulousains defended well and could have scored another try close to the end of the game. This game proved once again that the kicks are the main flaw of the Stade Toulousain, the players really need to improve themselves in this important matter.

It should be noted that the Ospreys' efforts in the second half were largely supported by a very lenient referee, at least as far as the Welsh were concerned. Mister white is... well,... Mister White.

No, that wasn't me.
Trolling isn't my kind of thing.
I'm a silly, sarky bugger, who messes around but I do NOT agree with a lot of those posts.
Also I try (I may not succeed) to just be playfull at first but to also give an opinion or viewpoint.
That isn't an arrogant "We're better than you"one.
I agree totally about the joint shirt idea-it really annoyed me that links that did not exist were trying to be formed.
I, as I have said whilst I was being silly, found it.....well.....surreal.
I thought it was funny to say it here though,as I, well...you know.....thought it worked in a way.

It can be done. I have the recipe. I've seen it prepared. It's just a matter of - with gloves on - picking, cleaning and preparing the nettles. They're added about 7 or 8 minutes prior to the completion. So, about 12 or 13 minutes into the cooking. My problem is finding the right sort of nettles.

I'll ask. The answer will, no doubt, be U.K specific, if he knows. If he has done it, he will have an idea where to source it and what to look for.

Yes, mud is a very interesting thing for a rugby player, particularly the forwards.
When you lose, you can blame it on the mud and weather, or the backs who always let the muddy ball slip and fall.
The aforementionned backs knocking the ball on means there are more scrums, which means more opportunities of fun for the forwards. It also means that there will be lots of kicks and mauls, which are rather boring ofr the backs, but, again, a good thing for the forwards.
And, most importantly, it lets you come back home with a jersey, short and socks soaked and full of mud, which you can proudly show to your wife and look at hte disgusted air she tries to mask. You can also tell about it to everyone at work, emphasizing on the wet, cold and dirty parts so everyone thinks you're totally crazy to play the game. When you tell this to children, you also immediately become a person worthy of much admiration (an adult sprawling in the mud can't be totally evil, after all).

It will be difficult to gather any proof now that I have renounced to women, too many problems for just a few seconds of ecstasy.

By the way, I have seen last sunday an episode of a serie I had only heard about, it is named Cadfael. It was broadcasted on ARTE (as all intelligent programs are in France) and was part of a thema on the life in the medieval age. Very interesting!

I thought he liked it because the field was less hard after a tackle... but now I know the truth.

I just watched Agen-LLanelli: 22-15 under lots of rain and a very strong wind. Lots of mud too
It was quite impressive to see Agen manage to hold and come back in the welsh half of the field with the wind that nullified their kicks. A great match where Agen played around its strong scrum and with great backs running with the ball, whereas the Welsh mostly relied on Scott Quinnell. I was really impressed by Agen.
As a side note, at half time, seeing the halberds of rain showering from the sky, my wife asked naively whether they would continue playing.
