I turned on FoxSports this afternoon to discover they've finally caught up with the Heineken Cup. They were showing a double-header from, I think, the first round. The second match was Edinburgh -v- Toulouse.

Crikey, Tamerlin! I didn't see Mam'zelle Labit on the field, so you can't even blame her! OTOH, I now know why you don't go to away matches.

And for our away game in Ulster on Sunday the referee is...Joel Jutge.

He plagues us in Europe - we just can't get away from him.

Now that's a shame.

Here's an idea ... why don't we start the betting competition up again gambling on the fortunes of everybody's 'favourite' English team?

On-topic, There's a rather nasty rumour going around that a couple of the Samoan RWC squad players have been lured to English RL clubs. I had an article somewhere but I've lost it.

An awful performance from the Stade Toulousain...

As far as I remember Christian ( ) played in this game but you have not recognized him because he had black hairs again (its original color).

This game was really disappointing because the Stade Toulousain had largely the means to win this game. They didn't play...

Sadly that is true - Samoa internationals Maurie Fa'asavalu and Dom Feaunati have switched codes from rugby union to league by signing for Super League side St Helens.

But remember - there are always exceptions to the prevailing trends in life.

I wouldn't start that betting pool on Tigers - the problem is we are such a huge club with such talent that eventually things will click again - and I would just hate to see you lose all your money because of that.

By which time you'll have actually paid for a shout, Tamerlin will actually have a job, ravagon will actually have woken up that Western Australia is the closest thing in the SH to the Netherlands in terms of boredom and should be flooded just as the Netherlands should be, L DiCesares will actually have passed a ball to his club president, and I'll actually have had a kind word to say about VD.

In other words ... in your dreams, bub.

Latest news from the Tournament Front:

- Richard Hill (Saracens) should miss the beginning of the Tournament (thanks to mister Flavell).
- Julian White (Leicester) will probably not play the whole competition.
- Jonny Wilkinson could start playing again this week and should thus play the Tournament.

- Fabien Pelous (Stade Toulousain) should miss the Tournament, or at the very least the first games.

Another very bad news for the French team, Dimitri Yachvili still seems to be considered as the lead Half-Scrum of the French XV...

By the way, I think the bets should be limited to the international games...

ummm..., well, hello!
This probably doesn't mean anything, but, I think that " Goodfellas" works far better, as a film, than "Casino" as it is far tighter in structure and pacing.
I've been watching "Leon" today.Classic.

Well, it replaces his old avatar - the silver fern, symbol of the All Blacks. After their performance in the WRC, I assume this avatar is Cal's suggestion for their new symbol.

Oh, and if my avatar caught sight of his new avatar, the fur would be well and truly flying.

I don't know about "far better", but I would never claim "Casino" to be as fine a film as "Goodfellas". One of Scorsese's vastly underrated films, IMHO, is "After Hours", a "jobbing" effort of his, directed to earn some money after "Last Temptation of Christ" fell over the first or second time prior to it eventually being made.

I have never seen "After Hours"- although I will now.
I am a fan of his, and , obviously, respect your opinion as a professional in this field.
To me, "Casino" while it has good concept and writing, sprawls lazily across the screen, whilst "Goodfellas," well, it is so sharp that you could use it to carve electrons.

Perhaps it's just a suggestion to the ABs that they should stop doing what this cat is doing whenever a semi final comes up.

It's a fairly light piece about an Uptown Manhattan yuppie who, one night, goes down to Lower Manhattan on a blind date. For various reasons, he never gets to keep the blind date, and, in fact, for even more various reasons, ends up trapped overnight in Lower Manhattan, a world with which he's far from familiar even though he's lived only a mile or so away from it all his life. It doesn't really sustain, but there's a lot of t'riffic darkly humorous stuff in it.

As Havak has pointed out, Graham Henry will work on strengthening their pack. Unfortunately, given his history of poor people management skills, he might not end up with a pack. 'Twill be interesting, though, to see how and where Carlos' freestyle approach fits into Henry's plans. If anywhere.
