Simulating Code Breaking Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I'm (very slowly)working on a scenario about the 'Battle of the Atlantic' in WW2, and I'm wondering what would be the best way to simulate the advantage that breaking the Germans codes gave the Allies. At present I've got it set up so the Allies get access to the lighthouse and Mangelleons Voyage wonders as the war progresses, but while this gives the Allied Navies an advantage, it dosn't fully simulate the Allies having knowledge of where the German submarines were.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Got spare money?

1) At some point, give the Allies a Tech caled "Radio Intercept". This lets them build a very cheap missile unit that has "0" attack, but can see subs. These can then be sent out on long, one-way trips across the ocean in search of subs. To keep the allies from stocking up on these, make them settler units that eat 2 (or more) food.

2) Grant the Allies the precursor Tech for the "Apollo" wonder. When it's built, all the enemy units will be highlighted. Unfortunately this only works once. I'm also not certain it works for subs.

3) If your scenario has file switching, at certain points in the game you could insert a new Rules.txt file which grants "sees sub" powers to units that previously couldn't spot them.

4) Grant the Allies a Tech which allows them to build cheap escort carriers and sub-spotter planes.

how about giving the Allies at some point lots of 0-move see-subs air units spread across the Atlantic?

This might also work:
When a certain tech is given to the germans thier submarines become obsolete and the new ones they can build isn't really submmarines (are visible).

Or you use two rules files. First rules include Allied ships that canīt detect subs, but the same ships can detect them with the second rules file

Then create an event - when the Allies reach the "Code breaking tech", then let the player swap the rules files, so from that point the Allies can detect subs ...

Edit: Erm...just saw that Kull has suggested that already...

If this is an Atlantic War scenario, it would be good to break the code breaking saga into different stages or advances. It could be a back and forth thing between the two sides as they discovered new menthods to counter each other. For instance there were months where Bletchley Park couldn't crack the Enigma when additional cyphers cylinders were added. Anoher suggestion, the code breaking machine created by Alan Turing - the bombe - could be a wonder.

Yeah, I'm doing that. The Allies start off with the Lighthouse wonder, which becomes obselete in 1942 when the Germans introduce the 'Shark' code system & 5 rotor enigma, and on the historical date that shark was cracked the Allies are able to build the Mangelleans Voyage wonder. German B-Dinst is represented by the wonders that allow for faster scientific research.
