help needed.
I cannot access civ111. I get as far as the first screen and then after about 20 seconds I am returned to my desktop.
I receive the error message `a required .dll file, binkw32.dll was not found'.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, both in minimum and typical mode, but there is no difference.
I have found the so called missing file, it is tucked away in a folder called `win 2k' inside another folder entitled `bink'. i am at a loss to understand why the game cant find it.
I have even tried copying the file from its folder into the main civ111 directory, but it wont let me, i presume this is because the disc is write-protected.
I dont know where to go next so all advice gratefully recieved.

I'm not sure if this helps you, but bink is the format of the intro movie. I know that some people have disabled it altogether, I can't remember how. perhaps you could google bink and download a player, might help you.
