There are many species of "jumping spiders." It's been a while since I read about them (I was around ten at the time), but I don't think any of them are poisonous. They jump mostly so they can dodge birds trying to eat them or something like that. I vaguely remember seeing one that had yellow stripes. Well, I'm not much help, but stick around. MtG shouldn't take much over half an hour to somehow produce www.encyclopediajumpingspideriana.com...

I propose a ban on posting pictures of spiders, and also a ban on even mentioning spiders in thread titles.

Why can't we have more threads about nice, non-frightening animals like piranhas or alligators, who don't have 8 legs and crawl all over you whenever they get the chance.

My memory is terrible. Upon closer inspection the first section of its body is significantly larger than the second. So the opposite of the picture.

It's the extremely rare Japanese yellowstriped jumping spider, so don't kill it. You'll get a hefty fine. Also get it away from the RAID.

Don't know what kind of spider it is though... there amount of different spiders in this area of the world is too little

Don't forget that spiders are very closely related to crabs and other sea life.... enjoy your next trip to Red Lobster, Winston...especially since the northern Ice flow of Greenland probably only serves seafood.... (underwater spiders)

So, i'm getting dressed the other day, buttoning up my shirt when i notice some kind of movement in front of me. It's a very subtle thing that only gets me to move my eyes - i'm still a bit sleepy- and take a look.
This spider is hanging by a thread about a foot away from me, right in front of my eyes. It stopped dead in it's track - while on its way down from the ceiling - in much the same way that Tom Cruise did in Mission Impossible, which is what caught my eye.

In just the time it takes me to focus, it just "releases" itself and goes down to the floor and runs under my dehumidifier in a flash.

Fastest little bugger i ever saw. Didn't even have time to be disgusted.
