	MarkG wants a News Post! Suffering from ads?

Hey,

When I PMed MarkG about transfering mod powers to Trip and myself, he sent back that he'll do that, but he'd like to see the Apolyton ISDG write a news post concerning our success in recent events.

He'd like such a post to be prepared and sent to him for posting on the Civ3 main news page.

So I would ask that we go ahead and compose such a post. I suggest that Togas (as the FAM) along with the Consuls must approve ANY post before it is provided for MarkG to publicly post.

Let's get working on this.

What can we talk about and what should we not?

We really do need a news post. What I need from everyone is what is OK to post and what is NOT OK to post. Once we have THAT agreed to, then we can have someone go from there. Writing it up shouldn't be hard, it's deciding what should be censored that is hard.

The world has contact, right? I think it would be okay to post that we and CFC are at war with GCA. Perhaps post we believe we're winning and/or signs of such, eg the abandonment of Catch and GCA's reduction to a handful of cities.

Not sure what else to post. I don't think we should include GWT or CGN just yet.

I am still around but I don't think I would be able to write a short news article any better than a consul/minister who has been more involved with the game. As Arnelos says, the real issue is what we can and cannot say.

Draft of news post

Heading into Turn 140 (230ad) of the Intersite Civ3 Competition (using PTW), Team Apolyton is still in the hunt and going strong against teams from the other major civilization sites!

On Apolyton's continent, the team from the Creative Design Group was the first eliminated. They were destroyed by the Gamecatcher Alliance team.

At present Apolyton and the Civ Fanatics Center are both at war with the Gamecatchers, and the Gamecatchers are close to defeat. Apolyton has conquered most of the former Gamecatcher territory on one side of a continental chokepoint, and the Civfanatics have conquered most of the territory on the other.

On another continent the Civilization Gaming Network and the Civilization Webring Team (aka German Webring Team) have both defeated their neighbors (Grenouille and Firaxis) and now face off as the world's top two powers. Relations are tense between the two super powers.

The Apolyton Intersite Team is now lead by a trio of "Consuls": NotYouEither, Arnelos, and Trip. Every month one of the Consuls is up for election. Most recently Trip won the election, replacing the retired former Consul BigFree.

The ministers who advise them are: Aggie (Minister of War), E_T (Domestic Minister), and Togas (Foreign Affairs Minister).

Minor spelling correction for Firaxis though (currently "Fraxis") and you're missing the last parenthesis after Domestic Minister.

I'd switch a couple of paragraphs around.. just for continuity of history.

Indeed, go for it. Someone please PM MarkG and remind him to authorize the mod powers for myself and Trip when after the NewsPost goes out. He might not remember otherwise
