Fun with Google Sets Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

The first two were mine. Most of the rest are at least fairly accurate, but I'm led to wonder what Bob Hope, Ronald Reagan, and Osama bin Laden have in common

I'm writing a term paper on the Bible right now, so I put in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It lists the other books of the Bible, with a catch: "Romans, Ephesians, Galatians... Numbers, Deuteronomy, Robert."

Robert? Did I miss something? *flips back to Bible, searching desperately for the Book of Robert*

The 4 names are books of the Bible AND Christian names! So the set gave you examples of BOTH!

Got spare money?

Well, screw you. I think it's funny.

Of course, my humor threshold is not very high right now, but that's beside the point.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

I did a search with Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Qusay Hussein, Yasser Arafat, and Mohammed Atta.

Included in the group was the Queen Mother.

Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

OK, so I put in the names of a couple of Greek philosophers and the large list comes up as expected with the names of most Greek thinkers and some Romans and other classical authors. There is also a contemporary translator.

But there's someone called "Mark Forstater" in the list. As far as I can find out this person is famous for only one thing: appearing in Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail. WTF?

Perhaps there is an absurdity subroutine in the search.

The "Book of Bob"

If that was written it would be hard to take that seriously....

If you search Google for Mark Forstater, along with a few names of philosophers, you'll find that he has also written books about spiritual teachings.

Google Sets simply finds terms that co-occur often on webpages, it's not some magical program that actually knows what you're talking about.
