5th player, Chrisius Maximus is looking for a game, he is in the UK, so on your time frame

or to stay with the 4 of us: we each have two civ's that play consectutively. Thus the 8 civ spots get filled and we get a new game. That could be good in any of the above I have been watching a game like this, and the players have had quite a lot of fun

I too like the box of Chocolates idea best... if we could mix that up with the 8 player idea... I would really like it.

I'm very keen on the two civ idea especially if we play random civs. When set up would we be playing our turns consecutively? That way the game-turn-sends shouldn’t take any longer than other games.

Paddy can you recommend any links where we can read up on this?

I have not seen the PBEM game for some time, yet the idea has been building in my mind. If I find which game it is, I will leave a link.

The whole idea is to play them consectutively. Speed will be amazing for an 8 player game.

So what you'd do is give yourself a character name and then name your two random civs such that your character name is included. For example:

Random Civ 1: "Lord Andy's Dwarfs"
Random Civ 2: "Lord Andy's Hobbits"

with all the associated adjectives, nouns etc.
It would be like one leader controls two races, each race with their own attributes, UU, etc.

I like it!

Keen to get started as soon as Shogun confirms his interest!

I assume the other normal game with Chrisius Maximus will be random also?

We could name it after a fictitious world. If we aren't going for randomness, there are a few worlds we could choose from:

"Rigel VII" - warm, dry, young, 60% water, continents
"Argelius" - warm, wet, old, 70% water, arch
"Risa" - warm, normal precip, old, 80% water, pangea

Here are some more challenging worlds:

"Dagobah" - warm, wet, young, 80% water, pangea
"Hoth" - cold, wet, old, 60% water, arch
"Triskelion" - warm, dry old, 60% water, arch
"Vulcan" - warm, dry, young 60% water, pangea
"Rura Penthe" - cold, dry, young, 80% water, pangea
