I don't experience that problem Shogun. For example, when I check my email in the morning before work (usually while eating Bovril on toast and sipping my tea ) I'll drag all newly received PBEM saves from outlook into my PBEM folder shortcut on desktop, then load C3C, then choose Load Game, play the first game, exit into the main screen, load the 2nd game, etc, until all saves have been played. I then exit out of C3C completely and email the new saves. I've never had a problem doing it this way.
Back to the patch debacles, alexman confirms here that he’s fairly sure radio isn't introduced into the save until one of us actually begins to research it.
So I downloaded the patch, created a triple install of C3C *sigh*, and tried loading the latest turn of our Easygoing game in v1.22.
It didn’t work. But it did work okay in v1.20.
Sooo… I guess the options are now these:- Dual install v1.20 and v1.22 – use v1.20 for our current v1.15 PBEM’s only, v1.22 for new PBEM’s and all other games.
- Continue playing v1.15 until Firaxis get their shite together and release a patch that will fix everything for once and for all.
Again, I don’t give a monkey’s what we do, but suspect that if we’re in other v1.15 games then option 2 will be the winner.

Okay, well I guess that option could be number 3.
I did look at that, but didn't like the thought of pissing about with bic files and the like.

Find the old conquests.biq, conquests.mb, and civilopedia.txt files. Hopefully you still have them somewhere, otherwise you can get them by extracting the 1.15 patch into an empty folder.
Backup your 1.22 conquests.biq, conquests.mb, and civilopedia.txt files, and replace them with the 1.15 ones. You should then be able to load 1.15 saves with the 1.22 patch.
After you finish your game, restore the 1.22 files. |
If we agreed to this option then it would probably be wise to have a dual install, v1.22, and v1.22 (1.15) – the latter being the 1.22 version with the modified files so that it is compatible with v1.15.
