I beg to differ: my partner is the one with the gasworks in his intestines. He also detests aniseed/fennel/liquorice so any antidote to the by-products of his digestive tract are not to his liking.

He also loves curry and real ale.

I, on the other hand, love fennel, and parsley, and liquorice root, and suchlike sweetmeats. And fortunately have a ready supply of incense and aromatic oils.
I also have a keen interest in the history and dissemination of foodstuffs, so I'm aware of what foodstuffs are likely to give you pause in romantic moments. Hint: steer clear of dahl roti with sweet chilli chutney, salted soy beans, chick peas, and always peel the skin off capsicums before eating. It's chemicals in the skin that cause the repeats. And never, ever, ever be tempted to have Jerusalem artichokes on a date, in any form whatsoever. Soup, puree or mousse, you will fart olympic style after ingesting those critters...
