Current city spacing, too tight for late game? Get a bigger avatar today!

While the the current spacing of our cities has been necessitated by our start location, I have some concern that the spacing is too tight for the later (industrial age and beyond) game.

First, it will make building later wonders more difficult, as we need big cities to produce expensive wonders, Second, If we can't get cities above size 12, we would not gain the additional benefits that that imparts to an ind/com civ. Thoughts on this?

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Our future (core) cities will be spaced further apart. With us abandoning Lux and Apolyton in the future our city spacing will look more late-game friendly by the time it's the late-game.

Increase Your PM Length

It's all a matter of how well you administer them. I've played games up to the end of the modern age with 3-tile spacing (o-x-x-o) and still manage to crank out tanks every 3-4 turns.

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Look at it this way. We won't have to spend the shields to build Hospitals (except in coastal cities that actually have a use for them) or the gold to maintain them.

Hospitals cost 160 shields each. Cavs cost 80 shields each. Do the math. After our REXing phase, we'll have 40+ cities, of which probably 20+ will not need hospitals. That's... *punches at calculator* 40-odd cavs.

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

About the late-game: you have to get there first, and in good health.
