Bahh! They've been promising commercial fusion reactors since the 1960s. Are there really some promising new ideas, or is this a money trap?
Fusion reactors shouldn't have the safety problems that fision reactors do. There is no radioactive fuel to poison the atmosphere with. The amount of fuseable material in the reactor at any one moment would be very small, too small to produce a big explosion. Also there really wouldn't be anything for terrorists to steal unless they had some way to cart off the whole thing.
