	Solve this! How many petals around the roses? Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations: Deluxe Edition

Hi!

Here's a nut for you to crack. How many petals around the roses:

If it takes a lot of time, you can think of it as "that the smarter you are, the longer it takes to figure it out"

It took me almost 6 hours to figure this (well, I wasn't working on this all the time). Effective time was approximately one hour - with a little help from another forum

The funny thing is, that the solution is so simple, that it's not obvious anymore...

When I got it, I thought that it was so stupid. Like it was a 'game' for ages 2-6...

I got it right the first time, I just guessed.

Then for the next 6 times I didn't get it right...

But I now get it right everytime, I figured it out

I eventually figured it out by thinking systematically enough. I reckon I could have played the game all night had it not been for a stroke of genius.

It seems like how you describe this game is central to how quickly you can solve it. I gave it a few lame attempts without success and went to google to find the solution.

I didn't find the solution, only a slightly different introduction, but the hints it provided helped me to quickly figure it out
