Search for threads in here by Wraith. You will recognise them by the Anime Apolyton title.

Personally, I like Lain and NGE, but haven't seen a great deal other than that.

--"So are there any fans of Anime on this bored?"

A few, but if you're here just for anime discussion you're going to be bored ^_^

My personal favorite is Haibane Renmei, followed closely by Serial Experiments: Lain. I haven't really done any strict ranking after that, but there are a number of good ones around.
Other favorites of mine would include Berserk, Crest/Banner of the Stars, Twelve Kingdoms, Alien 9, Twin Spica (currently airing in Japan), Utena, Porco Rosso and Jin-Roh.

I only agree with two of your list; Excel Saga and Ruroni Keninshin (as far as the OVAs are concerned; didn't like the TV series as much).
Evangelion isn't bad. Outlaw Star and Saber Marionette J are okay but nothing special. I didn't like .hack much, and really don't like Trigun (far too melodramatic, a message show, with static and uniteresting characters).

--" I'm new to this site and didn't know where the search thingy is,"

Up near the top of the page. If you're logged in it'll be next to "Control Panel".

I usually do one every other month to cover the latest US and Japanese releases, with a little manga tossed in as well.
Need to start working on my year-in-review one now.

I have never seen those (exccept Crest of the stars, I saw it on Tech-TV), I been meaning to see Lain, I have a friend who loves it (it also looks cool). I also heard Utena was good.

BTW Theben, thats a cool avatar. I love that webcomic.

I thought you didn't like Berzerk wraith?

BTW, I watched the Band of the Hawk DVDs again just for the 'bloopers/outakes' which I wasn't aware of, some are pretty funny like Griffith singing 'I'm Just A Girl Who Can't Say No'.

--"I have never seen those (exccept Crest of the stars, I saw it on Tech-TV),"

That's unfortunate, it has an atrocious dub. Bandai really went half-assed on this series for some reason, and even the subtitles weren't done very well.

--"I thought you didn't like Berzerk wraith?"

I don't know where you got that impression from. I've got the series and what there is of the US release of the manga. I have said it won't be for everyone; the low-budget animation, gore, and larger-than-life characters will turn some people off. But I like epic fantasy stuff.

--"Does Inuyashu (sp) count?"

Sure. Inu Yasha is anime. The dub is a bit unfortunate, though, involving Trish of Viz, who has a habit of trying to "improve" scripts by adding lame jokes.

What, you don't think Socal accents 'accentuate' the characters?

Be nice if AdultSwim used subtitles instead.
