the game just crashed on me
that is EU2, I was int he mood to play it for the first time in over half a year
I was the Inca, I took pout my neighbor nation, and had almost got to the point where I could build fine arts academies
and I had 1000 dollars
and than it quit
probably won't play it again for anoter year

i've been frustrated a bit with eu2 lately too. i used to play at least once every few days but now it's more like once a month or less. i've finally reached the point where the game is too easy, and i've tried practically all the fun countries/scenarios. the thing is the game is still pretty fun for 50 yrs or so until i enstablish my empire then it gets incredibly boring and easy. the secret to mastering eu2 is putting all your money into infra, and trade research(run at half army/navy maintence too!).

Try Byzantium or Novgorod.
I'm finding both of them rather difficult.
Wrt system stability I found the occasional crash in 1.06 when a colonist reached a province but that was it really.
Has anybody else tried a scenario called fantasia scramble? It plays a bit like a cross between the original Fantasia and Independent Europe. Quite enjoyable.
