Common sense and tradition. If the #1 team wins their game they stay #1.

After watching both games, I think USC had a tougher opponent than LSU. Oklahoma from about a month ago was much better than Michigan or Oklahoma now, but I think Michigan would beat the current Sooners.
Both USC and LSU have terrifying pass rushes; I'd give LSU an edge in the secondary. However, I'd give USC the edge in just about every facet of the offense. I think USC would win by about 10 points in a (truly) neutral site game.

Well, Oklahoma's offense should be fully loaded next season. They got that new running back, White's sprained wrist will have healed, and they'll have the off season to stew over what happened in the post season this year.
I respect Stoops and all but IMO they really should've used another QB instead of White. I know he won the Heisman and all but he had a sprained wrist and ankle. He wasn't going to be able to run forward for a first down if it presented itself (which it did over and over again) and he didn't have his pass accuracy due to the sprained wrist. What were they expecting him to do? Strike the Heisman pose and wow the LSU defense?
Everyone who keeps saying Michigan played well in the Rose Bowl needs to come to grips with reality. They did a very poor job of tackling, they hugged the USC players instead of tackling them, and the USC players just walked out of their "hugs". And then "Butterfingers" Edwards kept dropping the ball over and over again. Yeah he caught it a few times but that sorta falls into the monkeys on the keyboard theory, he missed a lot of big plays that could have put Michigan in a position to win the game.
Out of USC, LSU, OU, and Michigan, USC is the only one that played to their full potential and looked like they used the time before their bowl for full practice. LSU looked kinda sloppy, good enough to win but that's because OU was sloppier than they were. The Nokia Sloppy Bowl.
