He and I are on similar levels, in that we don't want to fvck with someone for a night, and then be done with that person.

He and I seem to want to find someone we connect with, date, and establish a serious, meaningful relationship.

There's a lot of others who say one thing, and then they really want the sex. But I really don't see that being the case with him.

Well, I will report back here after I have dinner with Ken tomorrow. Yes, I'm having dinner with him -- not having him for dinner.

Uber honey, it's way different in the gay world. Things move so much faster then they do in the strait one. Alot of gay men are used to the fast pace of the gay lifestyle, but it sounds to me like he isn't into the bar sceen and seems to have some grey matter between the ears and it isn't grey pupon!

Like I said yesterday he is probably kicking himself in the nads for even saying something like that and sweating it out until tomorrow night to see if he screwed a good thing up. Now the big question is did he call you or e-mail you today........that will tell me a few things I need to know.

Man drives to man's house.
Man picks up man.
Man and man drive to restaurant.
Man and man go in restaurant, sit down and eat.
Man and man talk.
When finished eating, man and man leave restaurant
Man and man then maybe grab a drink, or go for a walk, or whatever.
Man drives man home.
Man says goodnight to man (or man invites man in for nightcap...?)
Man drives home

The end.

2 hr breakup conversations are not fun. I've not had awful day with horrible weather, losing my bus pass and 7hrs of classes on my brutal Wednesdays on top of everything else.

Don't know what I will do, what I should do. I have to see her tomorrow because of mutual obligations. Best I can hope for is for this to blow over, when she remembers all the good times we've had.

Seems she talked things over with her parents and her sister about how to best end things and still remain friends, all over the Christmas break. Must be something about January. It's the second time I've been dumped this month.

Got spare money?

Well, Ken and I had dinner earlier this evening, then we went to his house (nice country home), and watched the movie, Dogma -- funny movie -- I liked it.

After the movie, I opened up the conversation about what I was thinking and feeling about him and I. Honest communication is hard, but I couldn't let him go too far out on the limb, so on this second time together, I told him my thoughts.

I basically told him that all I had for him were plutonic friendship feelings. Then he told me what his feelings/thoughts were, which was that he was hoping we would start dating, and establish some kind of relationship beyond friendship. So he said that he felt somewhat disappointed, but not really hurt.

I then told him that because he and I have several common areas in terms of interests, as well as life experiences, I want to see if we can be good plutonic friends. He said that would be real good -- of course, we'll see if we actually do become good friends.

I'm somewhat disappointed myself -- I want to find someone for something beyond plutonic friendship. Oh well, another time, with someone else, I suppose.

Like I told Ken at the end of our first evening -- I did not know for sure at that point.

After our second evening together yesterday, I realized that I was not attracted to him to be more intimate with him.

Enter the AD-FREE zone

I think MrFun

a) Doesn't want to be in a real relationship (for any number of reasons)
b) Just likes to lead people on than crush their egos
c) Is very, very, very picky
d) Is not really gay, but likes the image so that he can get away with saying things like non-heterosexual

So, which is it MrFun? A 2 year dry spell is not because you haven't been trying.

Yeah -- I wanted to deliberately hurt Ken -- that is why I wait soooooooo long and I never told him what I thought until we went all the way up to our SECOND date!

Actually, a couple of my friends have outright told me in the past, once or twice, that I might be a little too picky. But you exaggerate it much more than they did, and I'm not sure I agree with those two friends of mine.

Anyway, there are a couple of other local, new guys that I have already met and I'm going to see what happens -- I could use a couple of platonic friends down here in the middle of nowhere.

Does "platonic friends" mean "friends, but we are gay, so there is something exceptional in not having sexual relationships together" ?
