Ok, so 6 turns until a marketplace, then a library next @ 5 or perhaps 6 spt? Assuming 5 for now...

14 turns, with the chop bonus included. The city would probably hit 6spt at some point, perhaps shaving a turn off.

Looks good.

So, priorities for actually playing the turn:

1) Send WM to Python.
2) Shuffle WF in various cities as you suggested back on page 1 of this thread to maximize our military production. Izz to build settler.
3) Disband and/or move various warriors.
4) Send spearmen and chariots south (chariots only as far as Swindon, our southernmost barracks).
5) Sail our galley southward.
6) Worker actions, if any.
7) Adjust HBR for discovery in 4 turns.
8) Move our 2 archers and our scouts (and decide whether or not the northern one is to be disbanded).
9) Fortify southern warrior.
10) Order more bits of Cake.

Hehe, the UK premiere of The Simpsons visit England is on here tonight. Everyone's eagerly awaiting it - do you know how long ago it was screened in the US? I always wondered what the time-lag is before we get them. Tony Blair even voices himself, apparantly - (Mr Bean, according to Homer).

I'm leaving work now, to take her to a dental appointment, after which I'll be home and can get ahold of the save. How late will you be up (and online) tonight? I figure I'll get online around 5:30pm my time, and that's already 10:30pm your time, so if you're not around, it's cool. I have enough info, I think, to play the turn.

My gf & I are watching the video of 'The Final Cut' - the third & final part of a brilliant BBC Machievellian Political Drama based on a fictional Conservative Prime Minister who turns backstabbing into an art form. It must be the sixth time we've watched it. Recommended viewing for any civver.

Reg warrior in CoS disbanded. Marketplace selected. Says 8 turns until completion if I leave the WF on floodplains for growth in 1 turn (5spt, minus 1 to waste), but next turn it will grow and get the 5 spt, so it's really 6 turns as expected.

Southern scout moved 1, 4.
Western Chariot moved 2, 6.
Chariot in CoS moved towards Swindon (now at Sw8).
Regular archer moved 2.
2 regular warriors moved towards Corinth.
Far south warrior fortified.

Ciao is now at 2spt, if Swindon is set for 7. Hrm. Pondering that situation further, including what to do with Izz. Currently, I have Izz configured for 10spt.

Now I'm juggling WF. I took Izz off the cow, gave it to CoS, giving Ciao an irrigated plains for a turn, for 3spt this turn. Izz is still at 10spt, with enough food to grow (+3fpt right now).

Regular warrior in Silesia disbanded. Chariot in 3.
Northern scout moved onto our road net.

Ok, here's what I'm thinking for Ciao:

T83 - Size3, 3s. At this point, WF shuffling will drop it back to 2spt.
T84 - 2f, 5s. WF shuffle in Swindon to use Swindon89, on which a mine is due to complete for T85, results in 3spt again for Ciao.
T85 - 4f, 8s. Aforementioned mine complete.
T86 - 6f, 11s.
T87 - 8f, 14s.
T88 - 10f, 17s.
T89 - 12f, spearman complete. Perfecto.

I ordered NW1 to irrigate (by Coventry).
I ordered NW3 to move 4, to the grassland river tile between Izz and Cos. We should mine/road that.

Conscripts in Izz moved to Silesia (on their way to Plymouth to "contribute" to the 2nd galley).

I'm now sitting here pondering whether or not to disband the regular warrior in Ciao. There are two things keeping me from just sending it to Plymouth:

1) CoS is now empty, and it's just weird, even if we have thrown in our lot with Python competely.
2) With the withdrawl of the western chariot lookout, barbs could pop up out there.

Will ponder some more.

"Frumpy" moved 6, 3, 2 (for the best view on the voyage southward). Nothing of note sighted.

Current military: 13 workers, 2 scouts, 6 warriors, 2 archers, 3 spearmen, 4 chariots and 1 galley, for a total of 31 units. HBR in 4, -5gpt, with 10% luxuries.

Hmm, come to think of it, we may want to send the northern scout back out to the west as a barb lookout. Either that, or pull the regular archer back up to the northwest to do that job.

The Pythons have a warrior who will be traveling north out of the jungle next turn, so I left the road open for them.

Still pondering that regular in Ciao, and that's about all, folks.

We are militarily weak to Python, average to Monkey (that bodes well, considering just how weak we are right now, pre-upgrades!).

That will generally do it. Not that it stops me from doing the same sort of silly thing (though with me it's more likely to be a Captain Morgans & Coke).

When I saw "I'm on my fifth pint" I kinda figured I might not hear from you again last night.

Next turn is going to involve a bunch of WF shuffling:

Swindon should have 14shields stored, needing only 6 more to finish its chariot. So it can give Ciao a mined grassland tile for the turn. Ciao will have to surrender a plains/river tile to CoS. Izz will have to be reconfigured for +5 food.

I think our regular archer needs to move due west for a few turns.

I figure we should try to come up the east coast with our southern scout, looking for barb galleys for a reaction to the Frumpy. At least until we get up to Monkey's southern borders... then we must decide once and for all what to do with that scout: disband it and save 1gpt, or hang around and go for a suicide pillage at the start of the war.
