Actually, when it comes to LoTR I'm not much of a geek. Read it once when I was 10 and once when I was 20, plus I saw the movies once (do not plan to see them again or buy them)

Well, you've read the books as much as I have. I've watched the first two movies twice, though, once in the theater and once on the extended DVD.

I read a lot, though. Twice in a lifetime is very little to have read books, for me.

I'm up to 4 or 5 times on most fiction books that I own.

I don't think I've ever read a book more than twice. Possibly Dune or The Sword of Shannara, but that's it.

I also watch movies that I really like obsessively.

Saw Fight Club and Pulp Fiction >20 times each (not in theater, of course, but on DVD)
Saw Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket about 10 times
Seen a number of movies 5 times or more

i'm surprised nobody's mentioned the horrific fact that the punisher is being played by none other than john travolta. that put me off seeing that movie. i'd rather sever appendages from my body for ninety minutes than watch another travolta flick.

No. The trip over the western seas is a long one. The king shall return to the land of the rising sun in late February.

I think it was playing here a few weeks after it came out in the US. But China often gets those 'advanced' copies.

When is Star Wars: Ep.3 coming out? I thought it was due in 2004.

I have 100 DVDs. I see at least 20 movies in the theatre per year, and another 20 on video. IMDb asks me for tips and trivia.

\

This is incorrect. The Punisher is being played by Thomas Jane, star of such films as DEEP BLUE SEA, DREAMCATCHER, and 61* (the latter of which I thought he was quite good in). Johnny Travolta is supposedly going to play the main villain.

That's not exactly ameliorating the situation, since the only thing worse than Travolta as a hero is Travolta as a villain. Think Battlefield Earth.

Tired of ads?

going into more detail:

spiderman 2 - i'll see it because because that's the right thing to do, right? right?

alien vs predator - yawn.

the village - here's hoping that shyamalan can be more than an eternal 'promise'

shrek 2 - hm, don't know. the first one wasn't THAT interesting...

jersey girl - goodbye, kevin smith. 'twas nice to meet you.

troy - i'll go, because i'm a sucker for epic movies. but those hundreds of galleys in the trailer almost made me laugh.

kill bill vol 2 - didn't see the vol 1 (only in March), so i'm pretty indifferent to it.

the incredibles - yawn.

eternal sunshine... - hell, yes. it has to be interesting.

the ladykillers - coen brothers? i'm in.

the passion of christ - i'll see it, because it's the right thing to do, right? right?

harry potter - argh! gahhh! help me! (in other words: no)

garfield - i like the cat, but not that horrible digital transvestite...

club dread - huh? must be boring.

the punisher - second-rate heros are the trend now? what's next? iron fist?

the day after tomorrow - i'll see it because it's the right... well, you know.

j.m.barrie's neverland - not interested.

the spongebob... - yawn. yawn. yawn.

alexander - read my comment about 'troy' above. but without the part about galleys.

the aviator - well, it's scorcese. let's give him a credit, shall we?

rocky 6 - give it up, sly. please. i'm begging you. it's serious.

the brothers grimm - sounds interesting.

osama - huh? maybe.

2005. IIRC, the first one came out in '01, then Ep 2 came out in '03.

Anyway, I also want to see 'Miracle' (USA! USA! ). I wonder how Kurt Russell does as Herb Brooks.
