I was a little puzzled at why the latest 'open-ended' poll was closed less than 48 hours after opening (I count 34 hours between don's first post and closing post).
I do see however that con said earlier that a decision was needed at the UN at about the time don closed things, so it is perfectly understandable.

Although this trait of yours to always be a "day late and a dollar short" on voting on polls is very charming please do not expect much sympathy from me in the future.
Watching what is happening at the UN, getting the information distributed here, polling for the answers, and getting the info back to the UN is rapidly getting to be a full time job (that doesn't pay very well).
So please in the future pay attention and try to vote on at least these critical issues in a timely manner

I know I have had a little to do with the lack of time here, and I am sorry for my part in these delays, but when I left NZ close to a week ago discussion had been going on for some time and there was no indication we would be polling anytime soon, nor that decisions would suddenly be needed so urgently. When I next got the chance to check the forum it was after no more than 4 days - in which time ALL polls had been decided. If I had been delaying my votes then I would have had no grounds for making a fuss and I would have had to accept my stupidity, as I have so many times before. HOWEVER this was not the case, where everything was decided very quickly after long delays, during which I spent a lot of time reading and posting here.
A news update informing everyone of the polling time at the least would have been nice, as I bet there were others who were keen to vote but got used to the idea of discussions ongoing. Completely unbeknownst to me I missed the only 4 days that WERE important in this game's history to date, and there was no indication beforehand they would be the important days.
Yes I WILL try to vote on things in a timely manner, and at least in future (as I do now) if I miss them through my own fault I will not be problematic. I just feel that I was not given much chance to vote this time. I do not know who to address this to (certainly not you con), but I do not expect sympathy, merely what I would consider fair warning on something so important, something that everyone who wants to be involved with this game needs to have their say in. As long as this feeling is understood.
