All good things must come to pass, and so shall this site.
Come on, you know someday this site will go offline for good, its inevitable. How could it possibly last forever?
What I'm wondering though is how, when and why it will end? Will it be next year, 5 years from now, when the internet is replaced in 25 years? Who knows. But what do you think?
Personally, I think it will just get too expensive to run with not enough ad revenue coming in to compensate for it, plus you never know where the internet economy will be in 5, 3 or even 2 years from now. Its all guessing afterall.
Your thoughts SVP?
Edit: The poll is just what I thought were most common reasons for sites going offline.

A very long time. Suppose that for some reason, after 3-5 years, Dan and Markos can't run the site - real-life getting too much in the way, expenses being too bad, etc. If it's the expenses, I'm sure that Apolytoners would donate enough. If somehow they will no longer be the owners, the site will still live, with another owner. But, if that one is less motivated, well, it could die in another year or two from that.
But honestly, at least till 2010, I don't see how Poly's gonna die.

Yeah, I would bet that other people would take over the finances if it ever got low, but you never know, a server crash could destroy everything over night.

When civ 5 sucks worse than civ 4 that sucked worse than civ3 that was no where nearly as good as civ2.
