I happened to notice that today it's exactly 2000 days ago that Apolyton was founded (which happened on 26 July 1998, as you all of course already know).

That's 2000 days of spamming, bickering, gaming, spamming, debating, trolling, spamming, scenario making, spamming, spamming, story telling -- did I mention spamming?

And of course, 2000 days of Civ-related news, downloads, tournaments, interviews, chats, etc...

Congratulations to Markos and Dan for pulling this off and here's to the next 2000 days!

Made me think about my posts per day based on total 2000 days, rather than since i joined. Im at less than .75 posts per day looked at that way.

Too many posts were lost over time to give an accurate answer, but using the current statistic mentioned on the front forum page, about 1220.

But obviously that number continuously on the rise as activity is now far, far greater than 5 years ago. I think at present the number is closer to 1220 posts per hour

I'll try to keep this brief...

On behalf of Markos, myself and the Apolyton staff past and present, I would like to extended our sincerest thanks to the Civilization community for their continued support throughout the 5+ years that this site has been operating. Before that, speaking to both Markos' and my own experience, we each had the privilege of running separate, successful fansites for just under 2 years. I'm not certain as to the date that Markos first began administering a Civ site, but my first day was August 8th, 1996.



A lot has changed for me in the more than seven years since then -- matters both site and non-site related -- but one thing that has not is the enjoyment that I get in doing what I do here. I'm certain Markos will agree with me on this one.
