Usually it would be same age, with a comfort zone of up to two years younger, or up to one year older. Being only 20, any younger than my lower limit means trouble, and I guess the smaller margin with the upper limit is a part of my upbringing seeing as how my father is two years older than my mother and I guess I just grew up believing that to be the norm to such an extent that despite the fact that I know better now, its become somewhat of an instinct.

Typically younger, I think only 3 girls I have gone out with have been older than me (and that mostly cause I was 17 when I went to uni). My current GF is 21, I am 25.
A good measure of what is right and what is wrong, once you get over the age of about 18, is take half your age and add 7 to it as a minimum. You canwork it the other way around as well, to see if you're too young for them.
