That's right.
Most people dismiss silent films as hokey or boring. But there are quite a few out there which have held up quite well over the years and have a certain turn of the century charm to them.
-Metropolis
The king of silent films. I especially love the re-edited version that came out a year or two ago which added many of the lost scenes.
-Nosferatu
A classic of horror, scarier than any other Dracula flick. The story behind the making of this movie is quite interesting as well.
-The Lost World
The first dinosaur movie, and a pretty entertaining flick. Featuring an appearance by none other than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself.
Any other picks?

Modern Times has not been mentioned. Although it has a few lines of dialogue, it is basically silent
