Having Hard Drive Problems Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

My main Hard Drive has been dying a slow death, over the last several months and it's looking like it might be going faster than I had first thought. I'm starting to get BSOD's and the HD is making ominous noises.

I'm working on backing stuff up and I hope to find another HD with atleast 10 GB in the fairly cheap range, very soon.

Try www.newegg.com I've always had great luck with them on about anything computer related I've wanted.

I just checked and you can get a fairly decent hard drive for $50-75. That's actually gone up since I just bought an 80 gig 7200 rpm Western Digital Drive from them last fall for around $50-60.

EDIT:
Just cleaned up the link, it took the comma as part of it for some reason.

Also, the 7200 rpm Western Digital Drives are going for $55 for 40 gig right now, and $63 for 80 gig just to save you the search.

Oh and for what its worth, I've ordered from them on 3 seperate occasions and have had 0 problems. I even had to return a bad DVD drive (wouldn't open when you hit the eject button) for a refund once, and they did that with no questions. In all cases, the stuff shipped the same day as the order or the next morning.

In total I think I've ordered the following from them:
40 gig WD drive, an 80 gig WD drive, a cd burner, the bad dvd drive and a replacement, a geforce 4, a floppy drive, and various smaller items (cables, fans, etc). Hmmm, well guess thats just about all of my current desktop except for the motherboard and cpu that I bought months before I heard of newegg :P

Try removing the sharing option on the "incriminating evidence" directory as well. I've heard that can help, too.

How much ISDG stuff do you need to back up? Is there any of it that can be stored on MZO or by one of us, as a backup in case you lose all your drive (such a terrible thing to happen to a man )?

Arnie, WHY would I want to share the Incriminating evidence that I've gathered about other people. I don't want to lose my blackmail monopoly potential....

Fortunately, I have my DP's Computer that's also networked to mine, with some space still available. I'm moving my ISDG (and other games) working copies over to it, so that I can keep them updated and not at risk

Full PM-box? Change here!

Well, I have a new Internet Broadband router for my 2 computers that's up and running fine (after a bit of work getting it all working correctly). And my new Hard Drive is installed and the files are transfered, it boots up great and it's currently looking good.

I'm running a very thorough Norton DiskDoctor check on it (running time approx 9 hours) and it still has 7 hours left to go. I'll try to get my orders up before I go to work tonight, but I'm not promising anything at this point in time....

Anyways, it's bedtime for me.

I had gotten a 20Gig at around 30 bucks. I really couldn't afford anything more expencive. As it was, My DP & I had Mac & Cheese for a few days because of the added expence for that week.
