Urgent Business

Not much really important this turn other than working the Irongard-Skulgaria area. Have we given Vox an answer regarding Printing Press? They will be working on Democracy after that, however, I don't see why we will need Democracy. Does any of you think differently?

Also, the Hill is starting a University. It also does not have a Market. I think a Uni is better since we are max-sciencing even though it will take longer to finish.

Nope, which is the main reasoning why they will be of no use to us.

Then again, since everyone will have Chiv as of next turn (except RP and Vox), maybe we can do the trade becuase we are nice guys. Vox did help us in our little war after all...

Exact opposite. We kept putting it off for one more worker or settler and GS/Lego beat us to the Wonders.

Setting one city aside to be a shiled bank now is a good plan in my opinion, surely we could afford to lose one city out of our vast Empire couldn't we?

Err... AFAIK we hadn't given them an official yes or no on the deal and if that happened, it was never posted on the turn thread. Anyway, I'm sure there's a way around this:

What if we gave GS one turn equivalent of research in $$ to compensate for this lost turn? We can do this the turn immediately after getting Metallurgy. I would much rather sacrifice one turn that have to research a whole new tech which someone else already has.

Any ideas?

guys, the 400 gold is not too much when considering researching a whole new tech. I mean, phys itself is 1,600 beakers so we're paying 1/4. We will know if they are lying about their tech rate being at 300b/t if they take more than 5 turns to research it

Their tech rate is very unlikely 300 b/t. What happened (I presume) is that they held off from researching for one turn while waiting for our acceptance and then used the surplus for deficit research for this turn.

Anyway, I will send Chivalry accepted and tell them that at the moment we can only give them 300g equivalent to two turns of max $$ (which currently we are at 87g plus 80 or 90 that ND can give us.). We can tell GS that those 300 are for the lost beakers and that the other 100g we will pay at the end of the deal as we compensate the tech costs of both trades.

Also, I think ND will want something in return so I think we should ask GS to allow us to trade Physics to ND in 5 or 10 turns instead of the general 20 that they ask for (which is really so that Lego doesn't get it).

Sound ok?

sounds fine to me... so long as GS will accept the ND trade thing. If they don't then offer less money for a longer NTA. If they don't like that then we'll have to just trade anyways... they have the proverbial "position of power" here
