Ok, Austria has bit the dust, with all three of its remaining centers conquered by the tricolor forces of Russia, Turkey, and Italy. We'll see if Midshipman can do some quick diplomacy and maybe get one of them back.

Sure, thanks Victor, move that army to Livonia. I should have attacked you THIS turn. Oh well.

Fine, retreat to Kiel.

Got spare money?

Well... you do have Berlin, right? That's a good thing, Austria can't claim as much.

Suffering from ads?

Yeah, but Austria has Albania. I can't claim that glorious province either... oh, how my German citizens lust for the famous Albanian pastries! Or was it Bohemian pastries?

Something that the Austrians have. No matter.

By Berlin, I meant a capital, not the lands of Brandenburg, Meckelburg-vorpommern, Sachsen-Anhalt, and Berlin, which comprise what is known to dippers as Berlin. Austria's capital is... well not quite in his possession.

Austria doesn't need good diplomacy to survive, it is swimming in shark infested waters, what it needs are good tactics. Retreating to Tyrol, and then playing:

A Tyr S A Alb-Tri
A Alb-Tri
F Ion-Adr

gets Tri back for sure, and it's the only set of moves that is guaranteed to work. no amount of diplomacy can get Austria centers back at this point, only a dramatic counter attack can work... sorry Defiant, but Austria can be irritating to only one of us this year, it's you or me. You can always remove him next season.

Tired of ads?

On a side note, there are a number of clever seismic moves that can pervent this... Italy's job is to come up with a move that saves Tri. Austria's job is to outguess him.

Yeah, after only several years of sailing up the Danube and screwing Austria in ways not possible in the original (with fleets !) I think I noticed a difference

German F Den retreats to Kie
Austrian A Vie retreats to Tyr

The map is now a bit more red thanks to Midshipman's retreat.
