Hi all.
I just slogged my way through the Napoleonic wars (15 turns left). I was France. After finishing off Spain, I naturally turned my attention to Gibraltar, and took that as well.
Much to my surpirse and annoyance, the British fleet kept sailing right by me in Gibralta, without even stopping to let me fire the cannons I had left there for just such an occassion. They'd start out a tile or two away, go by, and end up out of range.
What is the importance of Gibralta if you can't close off the Mediteranian?

build a coastal fortress in that city and each passing ship gets shot. Also, use your own fleet to block the waterway.
