	RE: Geocities? Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Does anybody know what is up with Geocities and if they are ever going to fix what is wrong with their site?

Hey Defiant.

Nothing is wrong with it. They just are not allowing people to link directly to their site any more.

If you want to view a map of sorts, you have to copy the URL and paste it, and you can't just click the link.

I recommend using Angelcities. I believe it is www.angelcities.com .

Well that is just great, thanks, I will try angelcities when I get home, did the rest of you guys catch his suggestion? Just cut and past the sites and the view should come up. Geocities have a reason for doing this?

Polaris hit is right on the head, just go to the thread and copy the geocities map site and paste it to your address location above, hit return and the correct version of the map will come up, thanks.

Not sure, but I think they are probably doing it so they can get more popularity on their main page? Not quite sure.

Very annoying. I had several DotW signatures and graphics on Geocities, that now come up as giant red Xs.
