As may be apparent, my activity has been down over the last week or so, due to work. I have had a look through all the relevant threads, but there seems to be no overall discussion I can find for where we are diplomatically. Therefore, I'm starting this thread to discuss our positions and plans with regards to other factions.
Firstly, I presume we are at war with the Drones? Are we intending to attack, or just defend for the moment? What if PEACE join with the Drones like PUT have with the CyCon? What are our plans, diplomatically and militarily with regards to the Drones.
What's our next target? Are we going to take out the Believers of Angels to give us some more power, and bases to launch attacks, if needs be, against the Hive/Drones? If we are going to attack them, how should we go about it?
What about the Hive: Are we contemplating war with them? How would be best to handle them?
What are you feelings regarding other factions? We have many new member's who's opinions are not yet known to me, and old member's opinions who may have changed. I'd basically like to know where the faction feels it is, diplomatically, and where it wants to be going. How are we going to win the game?

Ok, second try (my first, very long and beautifull made response has disappeared somewhere in the vaults of internet). So this will be more summarized.
Angels: keep them friendly for now, more likely partner for tech trading since their research is better. I can't decide if infiltrating them is good or bad in this light.
Believers: take them if no End War starts with the Hive/Drones or Drones/PEACE, let's say from about 2165. After assimilation of PEACE and the build up of a new assault force (on the C-land). Infiltrate them at first opportunity
Hive: Let's try to keep the diplomaty as it is now. I'm under the impression they think they are powerfull with their stalling responses and keeping us insecure of their intentions. A calm Hive means we can outtech them in the long run.
Drones: If possible, avoid an all out war over PU-land. But I'm inclined to infiltrate them whatever they feel about that. Reinforce PU-land with half our present forces and build up defenses their (Plasma Garrisons, interceptors, perhaps more probes). Even in case a full scale war starts later, it is the first target for them and a good bridgehead for us.
PEACE: they don't want to unify with us, I think. So let's take them whatever they say except for an immediate agreement of unification. Even if the Hive/Drones or a single faction unifies with PEACE the way we do with former PUT, take them out. If needs to be I'll clarify my ideas why.
After assimilitation, leave half our troop in former PEACE bases and C-lands. Hive/Drones might be cooking something or already executing a surprise assault.
For the next few turns build up defenses pls, as it is now almost every faction is open to a surprise assault.
Also, when and if the immediate threat of a war with the Drones is over, switch PU to research facilities, and let C be the producer of our Union.
For how to win the game? I like the idea of achieving Transcendence or Economic Victory. A space race is also something I endorse, never saw it happen in a single player game (those AI's ).
