	The Lego Question... Got spare money?

During the last chat I popped up three possibilites on either attacking Lego or not. I would like to poll on them.

Options:

1 - Invade Lego after Military Tradition and before Industrialization

This would require a large IC invasion with a lot of cavs. Ideally GS should also participate. In a private chat with Togas, RP asked if we had plans to invade Lego and that if so, RP would cooperate with pillaging Conquistadors also.

The ideal situation here is that Vox's free tech be Medicine. Thus, Lego will be short on Steam Power and Nationalism and that will buy us some time. The main problem, however, is if GS will be ready so soon, and if they'd be willing to trust us for such an endeavour.


2 - Embargo Lego throughout the industrial age, invade them after Tanks

This requires obtaining a significant and crippling tech lead on Lego and possibly invading them after Tanks. This will require MANY troops and will be very bloody, but we have much more time to plan.


3 - Embargo Lego and win the Space Race

Same as above but no war, except perhaps from some ICBM action in the modern age.


4 - Continue trading with Lego

This implies continuing our current relationship with Lego.

Very hard question and one i[m really torn on. To me the question rather or not to invade LEGO hinges on this question "Will Lego win if we don't invade.". This in itself hinges on "Will lego get hoover/TOE/Adam smiths."

If the answer is yes on 2 of the wonders then we must plan for invasion, if on the other hand the answer is no, then we can win peacefully.

Into this mix we MUST wonder about ND, they seem EXTREMELY questionable about this war. Without their and GS support this war is doomed.

Also we must ask the question "how long will Lego trade with us on such excellent terms". Once they realize that we do trade with GS they'll see that we actually come out ahead in the trading. Also GS might not like this trading either. One item to realize to is that soon we will have the FP online and this will increaee our reasearch ablity greatly. Perhaps enough so that we can manage research in a timely manner without ND paying us much, thus freeing us ND to research.

I must admit that after seeing how poorly RP as a groupo reacted to the war that I rather dread doing this to somebody else, particularly someone who has been an excellent. OTOH vondrack seems to understand that this is a game and I suspect his/Lego's reaction to a war would be much more in a strictly competitive manner rather than personal.

Personally, I am against invading Lego, if Lego is going to win without being invaded GS will cave in and try to do something. I think it is better for us to build and prepare to go either way depending on which provides the better opportunity.

I do NOT think we should tell RP anything. RP has continually leaked, and fake leaked info throughout this game. No matter what RP says they do NOT have our best interests in mind.

Neutrality is our best policy in my opnion.

It's got to be a gang bang on Lego or it will fail.

GS,RP, ND & GoW.

If that doesnt work, then it's embargo time I guess.

(Although...I'd love to use some marines to take RP out of the game completely.). GS can stay, but I agree with GF. RP are in the game just to stir up trouble.

IF we can get GS and ND on this RIGHT NOW, I would say invade before railroads. If not, start up the embargo.

I don't think we should be initiating anything. GS and Roleplay could very easily forward pms and emails to Lego, I also think ND would have issues with us going to war with Lego as they made a deal not to land on Lego. Let GS and Roleplay war on Lego and we can stay neutral until a weakness gives us an opportunity to swoop in for the kill.

Yep - we need an answer on this pretty quickly from GS/RP/ND.

If they dont want to join in, then we should forget about pushing Lego as the one to attack.



And if a Lego offensive is not going to happen, then we dont have many military options available to us.

GS have disbanded their navy !!! and are happy to just sit the game out.
RP are going to cause non-military trouble any way they can
Lego is too big to take on our own.
Vox is just a Lego lapdog & is also untouchable.
ND is our ally.

- So we dont need our riders anymore. Should consider disbanding some ?

let's backstab ND then....

we have over 25 workers. We can probably get about 40 if we really wanted to. With RRs, and a mass Cav upgrade, unleash a devastating 40-workers + 50-cavalry railroad assault.

It'd be pretty much over in a single turn...

We prepare for war, but, like GF said, GS will get nervous if things stay status quo. Let them come to us and we go back to our roots. Mercs. If that means Lego offers us something better, we go with them.

I have really looked at the map from a war standpoint for the first time. I have come come to this conclusion.

1) We have 2 options of attack.
a) We attack in 2 concentrated forces:
1st force NE penisula then s toward legopolis
2nd Force(ND) near the dyes at the crossing.

b) we send 20 small forces of 6 each. This will allow us to do damage on a large scale and effectively destroy lego. Though most certainly they couldn't hold much land.

2) GS troops could best be used on a defensive scale, they have like a million defensive units.

3) We need offensive ships because as you can see Lego is now patroling the waters.

4) They know we're coming.
