	UK 1.27f patch install problem Get a bigger avatar today!

I realise this has been posted before by someone else, but there was no solution posted. Has anyone found a solution for a nocd error that only appears after installing the 1.27f UK patch (from the atari site).

We have two pcs running PTW (both with their own UK version cds - I checked the cd version numbers). Both will happily run PTW without the patch. The Win 98 pc will run PTW with the 1.27f patch happily as well. The problem is with the Win XP pc, which reports a nocd error if the patch is installed.

We only bought the second cd today (it is UK version 1.14 and is installed on the WinXP machine)whereas the other cd was bought shortly after release (UK version 1.01f).

Any suggestions before I pull my hair out - been installing and uninstalling this game and patch for half the night trying to get it to work.

I don't really have an answer, only that I have an early UK version - 1.01 - patched successively to 1.07, 1.14 and finally 1.27 and it runs under XP without any problems. So it probably isn't XP itself but more likely lies somewhere between the copy protection and the CD driver software.

Have you tried both CD's in each machine?

Thanks for the reply. I've now successfully patched both to 1.14f, but the XP still won't run the 1.27f patch. Have been running a game for approx 5 hours, and the XP machine has just frozen in the Civilopedia screen. Grrrrr...

Still can't find a way to patch both to 1.27 though.

Did you actually check the part number on the disk?

I bought the Gold edition in the UK over the counter and the PTW disk is the US version.

Yes - I checked the part number on the disk, hence I knew it was UK version.
