Question for you guys.
I'm told the following story that is true, although I've never seen it.
The story is that the last player in a multiplayer game can make one-unit movers move two tiles by using the go to command. So, you point your archer at a square two moves away, click the go to command, and the archer moves one tile during your turn and one tile after your turn -- but before the next player's move.
This produces the strange result that a spearman can invade an opponents land for two tiles and end up, for example, on a mountain.
Is this two-move possibility a reality in multiplayer?
Thanks, Russ

This bug/expliot exists, and can be an advantage. Of course sometimes, if the last player is regularly uses the GoTo command, it can cause unintended errors. I'm not sure if version 1.22 fixed the bug.
One thing to note, extra move is not totally free. It counts as your next move; so if you try to move the the following turn, the computer will not allow it (unit has already been moved). In any case, it can be used illegally for defensive reasons. As you said, you can "race" to a strong defensive position, a poorly protected city, or a strategic tile.
I am the last player in 2 games; one of which has justed ended (Double or Nothing - Won by Hot Enamel). My problem is that I regularly use the GoTo command in all games. So early in my PBEM games, I "inadvertently" used this exploit. With HE, I used it early on to surround an invading unit; fortunately it did not have any significant impact on the game.
On another occasion, I was moving multiple units to a strategic location. I accidently moved a stack to a space that was one space forward (exposed). I think the stack was 2 Infantry and 3 workers. Hot Enamel busted me on using the exploit, but he easily dispatched the poorly defended, and exposed stack.
When Hot Enamel caught me, I was very embarrassed and this pretty much cured me of my PBEM GoTo habit.
So if you are the first player in a MP game, be on the look out for the last player using this trick.
