Rather obviously HongHu, non? I come out defending her from scurrilous attacks from the village press and gossip-mongers, and I end up dead.
The last person everyone would suspect? HongHu. I'm glad someone finally figured it out... didn't want to spell it out for everyone.

The baker o' York had just closed, and as he was locking his front door, a group of villagers approached.
"What do you think you're doing?", Kassiopeia asked.
"Why, I'm locking the door. You can't be too safe in these days of death", the baker replied.
"No, he meant 'what are you doing to our village?'", Drogue specified, "we know you are the ruthless murderer striking our village!"
"What?! I found the body, with ADG, I didn't create it!"
"Blue on blue, eh? Very poetic", DrSpike said.
"We'll give you a taste of blue-on-blue", Skanky Burns said.
The villagers dragged the Duke o' York to a large pool of blue paint they had made. The village men threw him in and held his head under water until he died.
The villagers were fighting to survive. The inn-keeper, the green-grocer, the farmer, the butcher, and the baker have all been killed.
With Hercules being the fisherman and Skanky Burns having taken over what's left of the green-grocery, there wasn't much variation left on the menu.
The village was growing extinct, either by Mafia or by starvation.
It is now night.
