We basically now have two options: Continue exploring S in the hopes of finding a better crossing point, or heading northeast toward that sea now.
I favor suiciding it now. If there's coast right behind that sea like there normally is, we only have to survive one turn to make it to the other side. Also, from where we are now, LL will have no idea whether we went northeast or south next turn; but if we move south, find nothing, and then have to move back north, they'll see us coming back north and will know we suicided the galley in that direction. Also, we have no guarantee we'll find any better passage; and even if we do, it will just be a needless delay IMO, unless we can actually find a safe passage that won't risk the galley. Fortune favors the bold.
