Italy or Ottoman Empire?

I won't say anything more exept that I've begun on a new project from the early 20th century. And I need to know what the people's opinion is .

My question to you is: Who would you rather see playable; The Italians or the Ottomans?

Yeah, do the Balcan wars, or perhaps you could begin inthe early 19th century and then unfold the events until 1923, when Turkey became what it is today.

I think probably the Ottomans: although they were well on the way to becoming the 'Sick man of Europe' they were still a more significant power than Italy at the turn of the century.

What are the other civs BTW? I'm guessing Britain, France, Russia, Germany, USA and Japan?

Certainly the Ottomans: they controlled a much more significant slice of the world, and think of it if the empire had lasted longer? It would have been a far more important occurance to the world than anything Italy really did.

Btw, I have a bunch of links and book info, though mainly from 1914 onwards.

The Ottoman Conscription System gives a good description of Ottoman army units from 1844-1913 (they overhauled it in late 1913 after the Balkan debacle).

Storia d' Italia has some good timelines for the Turco-Italian war, but might require some help from Justinianum

Need units? They're not mine to give, but the artist would probably part with them for a virtual pint.

Bah. I use ottomans for footstools.

Seriously though, I guess I'd say the Ottomans too. Pretty big chunk of land to be representing as part of Shah Neutral Leader's Empire, or leave empty, or (god forbid) represent with barbarians. Dunno what the alternative would be though.

Inflate your Upload Space

Could anyone please help me do a map check; see if cities are placed correctly and spelled correctly. Ignore all the swamp land and the fact that the ottomans are not a civ.
