Aha, good question. I would say (though Franky might have a different opinion, I'm not sure) that it started off as a secret thing, but that other governments would find out about it soon enough. Especially when it gets the Adams regime into electoral trouble.

Agreed with Mr. President. I'm thinking that it'll start off secret, but with the amount of resources that'll pour into that region, it would be eventually known by other governments. I'm thinking that once President Adams gets into trouble, it'll be no problem for the other nations to find out that something is going on between the Drones and the Hive.....but finding out the exact location of the fighting would probably be much harder to find out.

.....this might lead to some good subplots with some special operations done to try and find out what is exactly going on....but I'll leave that up to everyone else.

You can make another post if you like. 'Cause I figure there's gonna be some more fighting going on before the reinforcements arrive. Depending on what assets are at MI-135 when Franco's message arrives, it could take a fairly long time for reinforcements to arrive.

I've been meaning to ask you. I'm going to graduate soon with a Bachelor's in Psychology. I was wondering what kind of jobs can I get in the Navy with it? My interests are Public Safety (Prison Administration) and/or Security (Administration). What is the potential like compared to the Army?

My cousin said that I could become an officer in the Army almost right away, or I could join the Air Force...but I'm not too sure I would like to join the Army. What does the Navy have?

About the same. You won't be allowed to be an aviator, but you can still go to OCS and get commissioned as an Ensign. You'd probably be a Surface Warfare officer (re: They are going to send you to a ship and you'll learn your real job there)

Army; They'll commision you as an officer, and depending on how well you did at "90 day wonder" school (OCS) you'd get to pick your OCS. Then your happy ass would be acting like an infantrymen anyway when you get sent to Iraq.

Bear in mind the USN is downsizing, so that may not be the best job decision.

Hmm... I've been thinking of what to do regarding the conference.

I'll try and write general treaty stuff, such as "The UA officially recongizes the rights and privielges...." (stuff like that). I'll write my point of view first, then you write Pym's. (The treaty will be concluded in the upcoming post, so you can get back to your civil war, and I can get back to my two or three planned story arcs).

What do you think?

Glorfindel is a character from The Lord of the Rings.

However, I have not yet caught on to the scheme.

Good post, Lonestar.

I always assumed that the Protectorate was patterned after Babylon 5, EarthGov, and Psi Corps from that TV series (one of my favorites).

I'm looking forward to the civil war, Lonestar. It sounds exciting!

At any rate, my next post will start the next story arc with the UA, and consolidation of Goa'uld territory (setting up bases, upgrading technology, standardizing communications and language among the reformed Jaffa, etc.) absorbing it into the UA.

Then I might add a surprise, not sure yet.

A 2nd Lt. is an O-1...meaning he's the lowest ranking officer there is. I'm a E-4, the first of the Non Commissioned Officer ranks (which means in theory I'm a "Leader"). The lowest you can be is E-1.

Hence. "I've been promoted three more times than you".
