What should we do now? Should I start at Geneva, with a brief conversation with Pym?

The UA's new policy is to try and eliminate any element of surprise, seeing that Sol is a very tempting target for war conquest.

Stealth is a very powerful tool, but once eliminated, it levels the playing field in a big way. Suppose the Iraqis or gurriellas in Afghanistan were able to detect our B-2 stealth bombers. They'd be able to bring down at least a few of them, instead of none.

I believe in Sun Tzu's philosophy, which is "Know thy enemy".

Even worse. To percentage of promotions from E4 to E5 dropped from 48% to 8% this past cycle. That was just for my rate (job, in Navyspeak). For the OSs' (radar watchers) their advancement dropped from 70% to less than 2%. Woo. The Navy is downsizing.

Anywho, I'll let you write the next filler for the Peace conference. After the signing, one of the UA's advisors interrupts Pym and Zakharov, telling them there was a important breaking news story; The Protectorate Senate passed a Constitutional Amendment making the Office of Lord Protector unoccupied until the Senate chose a new LP.

Is this the start of a B5 "Earth Civil War" knockoff? Yes, yes it is. Especially when 90% of the Governor-Generals reject the Amendment and Yoon tries to sieze power and bombs civilian targets in Pro-Pym cities.

Wa-wa-waaaaaaah!

Also, it could make Randius wonder if signing the Treaty with Pym was such a good idea.

If Pym is to be ousted or something, he can ask the UA for aid, in an unexpected twist.

Imagine the "true" Protectorate turning to its "cold war" equal, the UA, for assistance in the Civil War.

Thats just an idea.


I'll get cracking on the talks post (finals are done by next Tuesday). I'll have tons of free time after next week.

Actually, I forsee Pym very carefully asking for no help from the UA besides letting hisship sit tight while the Pro-Pym Forces mobilze at RE123 (the Brown Dwarf outside of Beta Hydri). During the intial fighting, we'll see a small skirmish of 30 or so ships in orbit of BH5.

The broadcast would go like this: "For the first time since the early days of the New Europa Uprising, Protectorate Warships opened fire on each other. While most of the fleet stood fast, Senate forces under Home Fleet Admiral Hess battle a Flotilla under Vice Admiral Harms..."

I will try and get my carcass in gear and post someday. But this last week has been a pile of crap. In addition to having to redo a quiz in one of my classes due to the insanity of the lecturer (in every other class I've been in, when you submit something with a part left out you just lose points and they don't force it back into your hands and tell you "Quiz is not marked until complete!" in a Russian accent), I had an all-day lab yesterday with my illiterate case study group.

And next week I have two assignments and an essay due. And I haven't started them. So I don't know if I can post next week.

Actually, the week after that is the presentation of the final case study, and the week after that the assignment is due. And then two (?) weeks after that are exams which I haven't studied for yet.

But if I survive that, I'll be able to post copiously (and I mean real story posts, not spamming the NationStates forum in a vain attempt to reach 3,000 posts).
